Good value, delicious cold breakfast buffet
Came here for some P&Q. Location is very nice with a lake at the back and paths around the grounds to take a quiet walk. The price is appropriate and the amenities are good too. Its a lovely building and the common areas are very ornate. Rooms are fated though...but comfortable so no complaints there. The cold breakfast buffet is excellent, a really super variety of foods and juices and smoothies. The hot food from the menu is not as good, its basic and not that tasty....but its in the price of the room so cant grumble too much. In short i would certainly visit again and next time I'm sticking with the cold breakfast buffet. Oh, and be careful at the bar, some wines are quite expensive by the glass and you wont know until you look at your bill!

Think Twice... old and outdated
On arrival, it looks great. Nice old hotel and spacious grounds. Check in was fine, but no one there when i arrived. Finally got the key to the room, which then ended up being the back end of beyond. View of the pallets from the neighbours or staff area... who knows. The room was spacious, and looked like the pictures on website, but the bathroom, oh my, that was like stepping back in time and into a time warp. beige / orange coloured bathroom. Shower was powerful. Bedroom had a very old electric heater, which didnt work. The rooms had poor linen and the beds were lumpy. Money needs to be spent here to bring it into line. Breakfast - the team were lovely, but the food tasted plastic and wasnt great. I wouldnt return. I went further out of my way to stay here, as it looked better than the mercure, but i should have kept to my decision. Think twice.

Entrance to the hotel is lovely - roaring fire and a grand staircase. Rooms are old and in much need of a refurb. Bed is very comfortable although had to ask for more pillows as they are very thin. Breakfast is of a high standard and a good variety. Bar is on the pricey side.

Tired, untidy service and lacking details
It’s not a top quality hotel. The rooms are tired but clean. However amenities like the room service menu were missing. When it was brought up to the room it was stained and sticky. The beds are too soft and the bathrooms dates with colored toilet and sink. The shower is fixed to the wall so you can’t wash off. Breakfast was included. Had it been charged at the full £18 I would have sent it back. Over cooked poached eggs, under cooked bacon and generally sloppy service. Kilhey court as a local reputation for being “posh”. But it’s really very tired and the service and attention to detail needs sharpening.

Kilhey Court
Lovely quiet place to stay. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Surroundings are gorgeous and spa facilities where fantastic. I stayed in the classic double room, plenty space and bed really comfy. Some furniture needed updating but overall it was great. Had breakfast and dinner food was delicious. Good variety.
