Lovely Italian hotel, staff very friendly. We had breakfast included, which was really nice. Fantastic location for walking to the main sights, including the colosseum.

Fine in Rome!
Well located. Good, attentive staff. Value for money - we will recommend it to friends.

Good location and breakfast.
Great location, good breakfast selection (although scrambled egg and bacon was always cold), room comfortable with good sound proofing from road noise. Reception staff pleasant, although our requested rooms were not availabe on arrival (hotelier tried to replace our 2 x twin rooms with 1 x 4 bed, for same price ... apparently, the same approach was tried with other guests during our stay) - a firm approach required!

Good Hotel in exellent location. Short walk to the main train station where the airport busses were and we walked also to all the main sights and restaurants. Staff was friendly and service was great and we also loved the breakfast.

The staff at Hotel Borromeo are so helpful, especially Gigi. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent. The hotel was very clean and within walking distance of the train station. It was a great base for sightseeing in Rome.

Gigi made all the difference
Gigi at the front desk was so helpful and always willing to help with making our experience the best. My daughter and I felt very grateful to him each time he was at the desk. He is a gem of an employee.

great Location, good amenities, meh comfort
We added Rome last minute and booked this hotel with minimal research. The one negative review I read was that they try to move overflow guests to a different hotel that’s not as nice. Because we weren’t there in the high season, I figured that was a non-issue. Sadly, it was an issue. When we arrived, they told us we would have to stay in a different room each night of our two night stay because they didn’t actually have what we booked available. They offered to move is to their sister hotel instead. The other hotel is in a different Part of town, near the Spanish steps instead of the colosseum. We hesitated, asked for the name of the other hotel and hopped on WiFi to start reading reviews (which weren’t as good as the Borromeo). We discussed walking away altogether but the manager was able to ‘find’ us a room at the Borromeo for both nights without having to switch rooms. We ended up in a room with a large balcony that was very clean and sufficient. The bed was one of the LEAST comfortable beds I’ve experienced in a hotel. Think slightly padded sheet of plywood with uncomfortable, thin pillows. That aside, we were pleased with the front desk. The gentleman there, Gigi, gave us a map and an excellent plan of attack to see Rome’s highlights in our two days. We found the included breakfast to be sufficient (great pastries, fresh whole fruit, scrambled eggs, bread for toast, yogurt, espresso machine, etc). I would probably stay here again but wouldn’t say it was awesome.
