Noisy stay
Checked in at this property about half nine at night. There was loud banging around my room it felt like a wall was going to come down at one point it was awful this went on for the best part of four hours. I tried to reach the night manager on shift however there was no answer so I had to ask a relative to come collect me as it was that bad.

Good, not great but good
The staff was friendly.. next door guests were very unconsidered and were quite loud until late on the first night.. I guess the walls are quite thin. Second night was very pleasant..I slept like a bear! I asked for the room to be cleaned but nothing really was other than the bed was badly made.. looked like they rinsed the coffee cup I used and left the coffee stains in the sink and dirty spoon in the cup.. a little disappointed at that.. I didn’t touch it again as it was dirty..besides that everything else was great!

Nice old school hotel, but with refurbished bathroom. Bathroom was a bit cold, expecially the floor, but the room itself had good heating and was tidy. Super convenient location right in city center. No complaints.

Unfortunately the lift wasnt working all weekend during my stay. I had to climb 4 flights of stairs with my suitcase. At breakfast there was staff shortages due to illness, these things cant be helped i know, but the staff member in charge was rather grumpy as a result. Receptionist was nice and pleasant on arrival. Now i was part of an organised dance party event which uses this hotel a lot throughtout the year. Even with staff shortages they couldve organised the breakfast arrangements better. You were supposed to queue uo and get name taken to get either tea or coffee. There was no staff for that facility. Tea and coffee should have been put in big flasks to help yourself to save any hassle. Or at least hot water in flasks. Fortunately the event i attended was good, so the lack of staff didnt put too much of a dampner on our stay. It is an old fashioned hotel, with lots of corridors and stairs that seem really complicated to find your way. The tea and coffee facilities in my room were placed on a shelf below the tv in a cabinet, that was a bit low to try and access, so i didnt use them. The room and ensuite were clean tho. Overall i did enjoy my stay despite the broken down lift and staff shortages.
