Beware of Manager
The hotel is amazing in it's looks and comfort. The lobby has an amazing pianist and bar area with desserts. The service desk manager is not so nice! She gave my friend a difficult time about changing his room because he was allergic to the bleach. He asked that they not use bleach in his bathroom, but they kept using it. And, the manager did not treat him or me nicely..he had paid for 5 rooms for 4 nights! You would think she would want to make him happy..and the ending was an expensive one. she wound up charging a fortune for a room that did not smell of bleach! But the other service people were very nice. as a matter of fact, they were afraid of her! And, told us so!

Excellent hotel which could be exceptional
We had a deluxe King room which was a good sized room made to feel larger by the entrance hall where there were two wardrobes. These were well equipped with lots of hangers, shelves and drawers as well as a safe. The bathroom and toilet were separate. The shower was over the bath - excellent shower but slightly frustrating as you had to stand on the plug to be under the shower. The bathroom had a heated floor and heated towel rail so it was very luxurious. There were nice touches including a hair dryer, shaving kit and very nice complementary toiletries. The bed was large and very comfortable although it had the European tradition of two single duvets. We were given a complementary bottle of water on arrival but this was not replaced during out 3 night stay. This small thing stood out in contrast to the high quality of the hotel service generally and would have cost very little. We did get all the other little touched like chocolates on the bed while we were out in the evening and slippers prepared by the side of get bed which is why this little thing stood out. We had a small balcony but did not bother to sit out as the walls were too high to see anything which was a real shame. Back to the positives, when the luck on our for broke, a completely new one was fitted within 15 minutes, very professional. The hotel is in a fantastic location near the city centre near the opera house and at the end of the main pedestrian street that leads up to Stephensdom and onto the Hoffburg.

Highly recommend
We stayed in a Superior room, which I believe was the lowest-graded (and cheapest) of the rooms available. However it was still a very spacious and luxurious room, the bathroom included a lovely big bath, twin wash basins and toilet in its own room off the bathroom. The higher-graded rooms in this hotel must really be something! The service was also terrific, every request was attended to quickly and courteously – even when we realised at 3:00am we had run out of toilet paper, a quick call to the concierge and a roll was delivered promptly. We found the mini-bar prices a bit rich, however we utilised the supermarket located in the same building as the hotel ... out the back doors of the hotel and a short walk down some stairs for a great range of food and drinks at supermarket prices. The location of the hotel in general is fantastic ... right on the Ringstrasse, easy access to the trams on the Ring, and also a very short walk to Karlsplatz Underground Station – or a short walk to many of Vienna's best attractions (including the Museums Quartier, Albertina, Hofburg Palace, Vienna Time Travel and very close indeed to the Opera House). The only downside – mini-bar and room service prices are a bit rich and we were never paying 16 euros for a movie on their TV. However the aforementioned supermarket negated the need to use the mini-bar. Our original pillows were very soft, however these were replaced with firmer pillows on request. Overall – highly recommend!

Good location, excellent room.
Very conveniet location, not only one block walk to Karntner Strasse, Staatsoper and Karl's Platz station, but also connecting to a shopping mall (Ringstrassen-Galerien) where you can buy food and drink at a super market. The room is luxurious, well conditioned and calm with the double window facing the traffic-heavy Ringstrasse. Free wifi was easy to hundle and sufficiently fast. Only a couple of slight dissatisfyng points are in the bath room. The first: the bath tab has no shower curtain and has only a insufficient glass shield, so the shower water splashes over the tab rim and wet over the floor. The second: During five nigts stay, there were two days we couldn't find bathmat and the houskeeping lady whom I called seemed not to be able to identify the bathmat from towels. But these small flaws did not matter so much. The overall experience in this hotel was great.

This was a nice Hotel and I got exactly want I expected. This is a hotel with allot of history. It brought the good and a little bad. It felt very historic and classy, but the rooms are a little out dated. That was fine for me. As a tourist for a few days, I really like the spa to end the day and found it very relaxing. Perfect location. Staff was great. One downside is that the beds are old and it hurt my back after a few days.
