Great Hotel - but not as good as it used to be
birthday stay. this year I was extremely disappointed with the hotel. We stayed here in NYE and it was really nice cosy and welcoming. However this time we had numerous issues, we were rudely told our room was not ready and check in was at 3pm even though we were trying ti check in at 2:56pm… so we had a drink at the foyer and went back around 3:30 and a nice gentleman checked us in. However upon getting to our room it was clear the room was not cleaned very well, mirrors were dusty, AC did not work at all (staff said they would offer a room swap but they were fully booked, they said maintenance man would fix the AC the next day but he couldn’t fix it). The toilet had brown hair everywhere,(we both had black hair). Last year (24/02/2021) me and my girlfriend stayed used Rena Spa and she cut her feet on a piece of glass the woman just apologised and didn’t go to check for more glass.. we thought that was a one off. But this year again the hotel has turned substandard and doesn’t live up to its high standards. The staff are friendly though.

Very grand
The midland is a very grand hotel… staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The room we stayed in was big, comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay and if back in Manchester would definitely stay here again.
