Maldron hotel experience
My stay in the Maldron was for a stag with my friends, the hotel was very modern and the staff where very friendly & welcoming, a really enjoyable stay

Good hotel if you get a room for a reasonable cost
Did enjoy the stay however two concerns took the edge off it. One, felt like we were buying the room the charge they made for it ,ok Springsteen was in town but even so it was outrageous. Our room backed onto a court yard and the door for the residents that lived there banged all night very annoying.

Not the best experience
Found it extremely difficult to find the car park. Ended up in wrong car park, waited and had to reverse out....not a good start..... There was a loud noise outside our room which prevented us from sleeping.....When we mentioned this on check-out all we got was...did you contact reception.

Pleasant stay
Had a very nice stay. Beds were very comfortable and the food was good in the restaurant. Shower was too hot. Missed a leisure centre but it was excellent value for money and the staff were lovely so I would stay again.

A few let downs.
Hotel was recently refurbished and still ongoing some exterior work which didn't disturb my stay. Whilst the look of the place was polished and clean the service at reception lacked the same refinement. At check in the person who checked me in, a male who may have been a manager proceeded to multi task which I don't think can ever be done in a way that doesn't impact on the level of service being given. It was busy and there was a number of people in reception as rooms were not ready however it was a very impersonal interaction which left me feeling like I would not possibly consider staying here again. I have stayed at the old Maldron on Cardiff lane which was head and shoulders above this one in terms of customer service. Another draw back was the walls are paper him which meant on my first night I got very little sleep due to a noisy group beside me. Also there was no room service menus in my room and I asked a colleague for his in his room and he didn't have one either. Great place to stop off and stay if sight seeing so not intending to spend much time in the hotel but I was there for business and found it lacked the luxury it's trying to offer.
