Exceptional 10.0
One night stay
The lady n check in was very friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than we expected. Yes, there was noise from the the road but it did go quiet in the night. The breakfast was good with the hot dishes being bacon, sausage and scrambled egg. You could also make pancakes if you wanted. There was a heated pool but we did not try it.

North Vancouver hotel
The hotel is very convenient for Capilano bridge which is about 20 min walk. Grouse mountains is also short drive away. Lions gate bridge is also a short drive away if you to head to stanley park/ robson street. Overall a great location to stay.

The room was ‘ok’. Though the property was very loud and when anything happened in adjacent rooms, we could hear everything. I think the staff are a bit ‘meh’ for being in customer service. I came in, carrying a large bag of laundry to ask where the laundry room was. They explained that it was around back of property by the pool. Which was fine, except when I got to the room, there was no machine for soap and no wY to get change. So back to front desk, still carrying the laundry. Up front ‘yes, we sell soap and we make change’. So why on earth wouldn’t you alert a guest to that fact in the first place? “Yes, the laundry is around back of property and if you like, I have soap available for sale. Do you have change?” I realize this is a little thing, but it’s the little things that can either add up to a good stay or a not-so-great stay. I did a load of laundry but my clothes ended up with some kind of sticky substance in spots, even though I checked pockets. So be aware of that when using the washer/dryer. The pool was not operational and even if it were the furniture around it was pretty sad looking. In general I would say the price was pretty high for the quality of the place but I did choose it because it was competitively prices for that area, for that night. I would probably choose a higher priced competitor next time.

Adequate But Nothing Special
We stayed at the "hotel" while in Canada for the Paul McCartney concert. I generally consider an outside entrance a "motel". While the staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean, the building and rooms are in need of renovation and repairs. The ventilation fan in the bathroom did nothing to reduce the moisture buildup following a shower. We were forced to open the small window in the bathroom and the one just outside the bathroom just to get the moisture to clear out. When we first entered the room we couldn't understand why these two windows were open. Now we know. This really concerned us as it did not give us a sense of security having these windows open and anyone could have seen right in the windows. The wallpaper in the bathroom was bubbling and peeling off. The floors were uneven and we had to step over a hump and onto a lower surface. The guest services book indicated that there were soda machines on sight but in fact, they did not have any but had a poster in the lobby that stated what they had for sale. The onsite pool was closed indefinitely and looked as though it had not been used in a long time as they kept linens and cleaning supplies in the pool house. In general the whole place needed a serious facelift, but it was adequate for a short 2 night stay. Looked much better online and there were several other hotel options right next door. Probably would choose differently next time.
