Beautiful hotel but no coffee machine
Stayed for the marathon. Beautiful hotel and great location but rooms are awfully dated. We booked an executive room with access to business lounge. Our room was massive and had 2 bathrooms but no coffee machine. This was a massive let down for me especially on race weekend.

Good location in the middle of the Loop. Hotel is old and is quite grand. Rooms were comfy and bar was decent. Staff were friendly and the only negative was lack of coffee facilities in room. I suspect this is something to do with having Starbucks in the lobby. I would reccomend to anybody visiting Chicago.

Fair 4.0
Disappointing stay
Very disappointing service, staff unable to serve a hot drink when requested just after midnight following an evening out, and no facility in the room to make a drink of any kind. It was also disappointing to find the pool closed for renovations as this had been my main reason in booking this hotel, despite it being the most expensive on our tour. The cost of parking the car was horrendous, despite choosing the self-park option!!

Great location but not worth the money.
This is a tired, old grand hotel with very small and very over-priced rooms. The hotel has zero security. Anyone can enter the building at street level, encounter no hotel staff, and ride up the elevators to any hotel floor. It is frankly creepy. One must go up a floor even to find someone at the hotel to help you. Even the hotel's computers are out in the open and free to use by anyone. Very odd. There were long queues to check- in, to talk to the concierge, and to enter the breakfast room. The serving staff at the breakfast room, however, were excellent.

Great location to explore
Good hotel in a great location. Room was basic with no city view but we stayed over new years and hotel was extremely busy with a good buzz about it. Pool was closed for renovations which is sad as we looked forward to using it and weren't told this at time of booking. Overall a good hotel lovely building in very good area for exploring the city

lobby gorgeous. Rooms need updating
lobby gorgeous. Rooms need updating. Hot water took an age to come on. The front desk gave me the wifi password because I was unaware you have to pay if you are not a Hilton card holder -- and I am (tho it will be ancient). If I had not asked, I would not have had access or would have had to pay.

Stay somewhere else
On arrival, the hotel looks very grand, with an impressive, ornate reception area. However, you quickly discover that the rooms do not match. My room was tiny, I couldn't even open my suitcase without blocking access to the bathroom. The bedside lamp didn't work, nor did the wardrobe light and there were tea stains dripping down the door. The room looked tired to say the least. No USB ports by the bed and you have to pay for wifi, which I hadn't realised or I wouldn't have stayed here. Staff were very unfriendly - reception staff didn't even make eye contact and treated you like a number rather than a guest. I chose this hotel for its pool and location, and the pool was closed all weekend. Walls are also very thin and I was woken up by noisy guests walking past. The best thing about this hotel was the location, which is very good, but the rooms desperately need decorating and modernising.
