Converted to shelter and no refund
I arrived to find the hotel was converted to a COVID shelter and could not honor my reservation. An email had been sent to me just that day, but I was already traveling and didn’t see it. I was told I would be refunded, but given no documentation. Weeks later, I have still not received my refund and have not been contacted.

I booked with them in September for a stay in December and only found out they couldn’t honour my stay because I looked on their Expedia page and it said the hotel was closed but they still sent me all my confirmations up until the day before. They did not notify me until the morning of my stay when I was supposed to be checking in at 2 pm. They are lucky I noticed 2 days beforehand and called Expedia or we would have travelled all the way to New York to not have a place to stay. Absolutely horrible service.

Let Down by Hotel and Hotels.Com
Upon arrival, the Belnord would not honor our reservation even after being confirmed by Hotels.com 3 days before. They said they were closing. Their assistance was to give me the 800 number to Hotels.com who seemed to try to call the hotel but apparently got cutoff. We had to find alternate accommodations on our own which costs us about 2 to 4X what we had booked the Belnord at. And I still await the posting of my Reward nights to my account that I had applied to my reservation.

Good location, bad service
Horrible service. Hotel is small and old but that I can live with. Reservation service is horrible. Canceled rooms, then booked them again, took weeks to refund deposit, had to call several times. It's a mess and not worth the headache.

Rooms are tiny but fine. The free hot drinks machine on the 6th floor is a nice touch but it was often out of order during our stay. Wi-Fi was also really spotty. Location is great - right by the 86th Street subway and there are a number of nice eateries in the local area.

The rooms are small, but that is how the price can be kept so attractive. The condition of the hotel is very good. The location is convenient. A subway stop is only one and a half short blocks from the hotel. We enjoyed our stay.
