We stayed in a very spacious twin room. The only thing was that the room at the front was a little noisy, due to passing revellers and traffic.

Bit tired
Staff were very polite and helpful. Hotel is very tired and could do with a bit of tlc. Worn out carpets. Broken window sashes. Crumbling paintwork. But overall a very pleasant stay. Food good.

Nice older property in central Ryde.
Nice older hotel (on a steep hill) in the center of town. Too many stairs for my old knees. Great breakfast. Very friendly staff. Good bathroom. Good in-room coffee/tea service. Restaurants and bar on ground floor.

A little tired but good
This hotel is a bit tired carpenters threadbare and wallpaper pealing but the service is good and the food is excellent and a nice selection of free coffee tea biscuit and hot chocolate in the room

Lively hotel, needs modernising
We stayed for a week over Christmas, we were in a front room looking out onto Union Street. Because of this it was very noisy and being party season too that made it worse. Lots of very loud people walking past some nights until 3am. The room was a decent size and very clean. The bed for me was very uncomfortable - I suspect the mattress needs changing as if you just moved your leg the other person felt it. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and happy. Overall we had a lovely stay and my criticisms wouldn’t stop me staying again but I do think some money needs spending on the hotel with regards to decoration and the floor boards which creaked terribly. My husband and I had competitions every morning to try to creak the quietest. It is a good hotel though and the staff really do make it and it’s very popular with the locals!

Worth a visit
The building is looking a little tired, requires some TLC, however, the overall service, friendly and helpful staff, and the quality of food was good. The location of the hotel is perfect if you want everything on your doorstep. Try to get a room in the main building if you want to be part of the hotel atmosphere, the rooms across the road to the main hotel, while being very comfortable, you do feel a bit cut off from everything.

Working away
Really friendly staff and great food with a early brekfast. Perfect for working from home and getting to site on time. Loads to do in the area and berry close to the pier. The hotel was a little dated but not out of character for the surrounding areas.
