Underwhelming and a bit of a con

To be honest, this was an underwhelming hotel. It took nearly an hour for them to bring my bag to my room when I checked in and I didn't really notice any service after that (even the doorman usually just watched me go in and out without even moving to get the door). My big issue with this hotel is the "facilities charge" they add on to your bill when you leave. Apparently this is to cover things like tea, coffee and use of the gym. I don't understand why these things aren't included in the cost of the room and it strikes me as a bit of a con to be honest. I won't bother staying here again.

A great hotel impacted by poor maintanence

Even with the air-conditioning switched off, the vents make too much noise for it to be a wonderful stay

A comfortable and well located hotel

The hotel is well located in downtown to see the tourist sights and close too good restaurants. Our room was large and the bed was really comfortable. Staff and friendly, welcoming and helpful. Jake’s grill is the hotel’s dining option for breakfast. We found the food a little disappointing and overpriced. A small gripe is about the elevators, they are old, look very tired and painfully slow. On the whole however, the hotel was good.

    Wonderful

Such a wonderful hotel with gracious staff and rooms with character. We love this spot, the neighborhood and walkability is great. Hopefully a new coffee shop opens up in the lobby soon. We miss having the Starbucks right there. My only add would be to have queen sized beds, the doubles are really small for two people to share.

    A little disappointing

The hotel is an architectural gem( lobby ceiling) and was overall very clean. However, mechanical issues popped up with the air conditioning not working and alarms going off in the middle of the night due to a bath tub leaking and shorting out some wiring. Finally, elevator was old and needed replacing.

    Friendly and Accommodating

My daughter and I had a Queen Terrace suite, and it was amazing!! The bed was luxurious (I slept like a baby). The staff, Jesse and Tyler, went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Jesse even called many restaurants to help us find a place to eat during COVID restrictions. I highly recommend this hotel, great location, staff, and hotel.

    Ehh

I usually don’t write these. This might be my first ever review. But I feel a need to say something. My room was the queen bed with balcony. Balcony was great and I don’t want to take that away. The lights and the flame on top of table was great. But I honestly feel deceived in a way, I feel like the pictures give you this false impression that the room is bigger than it is. It says “suite” in reservation but it is nothing compared to any suites I’ve had before. It is literally a bed that takes up the whole room and 2 steps over is the restroom which was again small for a “suite”. I assume the balcony addition makes it a “suite?”. The first night the heater was not working well and it was cold in room. After a few calls from the front desk asking me if I know how to work a thermostat? It’s not a high tech thermostat, legit has 3 buttons so how can I not work it? The first night was spent cold and uncomfortable. The walls were very dusty and looked like they haven’t been cleaned in a long time. I just feel like the hotel portrays itself as this lavish hotel that you’ll be happy to stay at. But it really was disappointing. I would stay somewhere else if I could do it again. I know I can’t change your mind and maybe you’ll have a better experience, but I was very much disappointed. And this was a getaway with a wife away from kids, so it isn’t gonna be hard to please us as we are getting away together.
