Best hotel on the island i think!
Lovely hotel and I think the best location of all the hotels we had a look at whilst we were in Bermuda. Bermuda has a great bus system and you can get anywhere. Also ferry services are good. From this hotel you can walk to both the bus and ferry terminals in just a few minutes which makes life easy. Also just a few minutes walk to town centre for all restaurants and shops. We had room 664 after we upgraded to a club room. Definitely worth it. We had a wonderful balcony with great view of the harbour. The club lounge was great. Breakfast, afternoon tea, tapas and deserts each day. Drinks included but not alcoholic drinks and they were expensive, even in the lounge. Normally in a hotel club lounge the wine/beer is just a couple of dollars but here it was a minimum of $12 per glass of wine. We had New Year dinner in Marcos at the hotel which was disappointing but we ate there another night and it was fine. Automatic 'room gratuity' of $22 per night added to my bill which i wasn't expecting. Room service came at 5pm each night, just as we got in wanting to change! After a couple of nights and when we complained they did change this and it was done in the morning as would be normal! Overall staff very friendly and polite. Wonderful stay. Best hotel on the island i think! We did consider the other Fairmont and had a good look at it but it just seemed over large, too many people everywhere and not so easy to get about the island.

Fair 4.0
Poor value for money / service not great
Generally we thought that the hotel was poor value for money at around $400 per night & overall the service was not great. We stayed for 9 nights & our main comments / feedback are / is as follows: Our loyalty account preferences say a high room & on our booking we requested a high floor & we were put on the ground floor. The matress was far too soft, which we pointed out to reception & they told us that they did not have any spare mattresses. They put a board underneath, but only half the bed & it didn’t really make much of a difference, meaning that we did not sleep that well during our stay. There was no sound proofing on the rooms whatsoever. We could hear every work said in the corridor & there was an ice machine opposite, which constantly made a noise. We tried to book brunch on Saturday for the Sunday, but we were told that they were no longer taking bookings & told us to walk in & we may get lucky! We were also given the wrong price for brunch (they couldn’t even give us the price for brunch without champagne) & they also gave us the incorrect start time (11:30 instead of 11:00). The wi-fi was not great, in that the signal was pretty weak & we were only able to connect intermittently. The pool bar was not really a pool bar as such, as it was not right next to the pool & it was only open at the weekend, meaning that you had to call for service using a phone by the pool during the week. Finally, the tea / coffee / milk was not always replenished.

Not a resort hotel
If you are looking for a resort hotel, then maybe the Hamilton Princess is not for you. It is a big hotel with lots of corporate guests, and, when we were there, several international ball hockey teams who "took over" the hotel, were loud and at times, inconsiderate to other guests. The hotel is in a great location for easy walking distance to Hamilton, however, and the rooms that have been refurbished are elegant and stylish. The rooms in the Bermudiana wing, however, are dated, and not very well maintained - we were put in to one on our first night, and asked to be transferred the following morning, having almost scalded ourselves in a shower where the temperature control was almost falling out of the wall . The photos on the Hotels.com website are misleading. The Beach Club is gorgeous - albeit a 20 minute shuttle ride from the hotel, but we found the hotel itself bland and the decor incohesive so that the overall effect was a lack of atmosphere and style

Overpriced
Reasonable hotel but very, very overpriced. Make sure you stay in refurbished rooms.
