Good 6.0
During our stay the fire alarm activated late at night but went silent after a few seconds. There was no automatic evacuation. The tables in the breakfast room are too close together, guests had to push past each other. Towels and pillows need replacing. There was a smell of stale smoke when air con was on. These things are a shame as otherwise this hotel is stunning and offers so much.

Fantastic experience; from start to finish Robert, the stay and his team were exemplary.

We had an amazing stay at Clontarf Castle. The entrance hall is very impressive. The food we had was excellent, especially the crispy pork belly. Our room was lovely, the bed comfortable but what made our visit that bit more special was the staff. Everyone went out of their way to be welcoming, friendly and offer a high standard of service.

Great stay at Clontarf Castle
Great overall, really love the idea of the handy phone, perhaps in the future a guided tour of the castle itself or a video projection of its timeline in history might be a good idea.

Poor 2.0
Looks great but could be so much more !!!!!!!
Where do i start. I arrived at the hotel and i though it looked so nice from the outside all lite up with Christmas lights. Checked in went to my room and the frist thing i noticed was that the air conditioning wasnt working, so i got ready for dinner and reported the issiue to reception and they said they would have it fixed by the time i got back from dinner. Had dinner went back to my room at around 11pm and found they hadnt fixed the air con and had just left me a heater instead. The funny thing is the room was to hot already thats why i was trying to use the air con. Went to bed and tried to turn the lights of and the switches next to my bed wouldnt work, so something else that wasnt working. Then in the morning i found the frame works in the rooms where covered in dust. This hotel had so much to offer but they dont care. On checkout i spoke to the person at reception and spoke to them about my issues and says that they already knew that the air con on my whole floor was out of service. So shy didnt they tell me at the time of booking.
