Trinity City Hotel
Disappointing hotel but good location.
Chose hotel for central location. However it appears to be a luxury hotel geared up to groups and coach parties of tourists, especially Americans. Our room was certainly small and decor dated. We had no air conditioning, just a plug in yourself table fan. It was a hot spell yet our window could only open partially. We didn't mind, but there were only local Irish tv channels which is unusual in an upmarket international hotel. It was noisy location as it overlooked the main road next to a fire station. We realise other guests got better rooms, yet we were paying up to £200 per night( not including breakfast) so felt we got a bad deal.

I requested a twin room but got a small double, when mentioned to reception they put it right with an upgrade - excellent service recovery 👍

Lack of value for price of room
We have stayed in the Trinity City many times but this time we felt we got a small basic room for the €270 we paid for one night. The value for money is not there any more and we will be looking elsewhere on our next trip top Dublin. We had one drink in the bar but found the staff to be not very service focused compared to previous trips. its

Trinity City Hotel
ow don't get me wrong not all if the hotel was bad. We arrived it was very easy to find and is in a great position. The entrance is beautiful, the staff were kind and the door men were very friendly. We were allowed to check in early as a bedroom was available, if we had known what bedroom we would of waited to check in at 3pm... I definitely think with this hotel it is pick of the draw you either get a beautiful room not next to the fire station or a dirty room over looking the fire station which is unfortunately what we got... All day and into the evening were fire drills etc, I do believe they keep quiet from a certain time until 8am but you can still hear them. Of course this is just poor positioning of the hotel, we would of asked to switch rooms but saw little point as the fire station seems to go around the hotel, also it just meant some other poor sod would of ended up with our room. The room itself was very basic for the price, the shower leaked as the shower door on the bath has a gap so my poor pyjamas got soaked through and there are no dressing gowns which surprised me. There wasn't plug sockets next to one side of the bed which these days is rare and inconvenient. I left with a rash on both my arms and legs which reading the reviews today has also been an issue for other guests this week...
