Great spot, nice modern look, small improvement need

Place was great and in the best location and would recommend. Be warned though there is no individual parking. Using the Valet is a Must; as in you have to there is no other place to park except on the street. At least as far as I could tell. The rooms are nice and modern stylized and i liked that our floor had so few rooms no matter where we were at everyone was close to the elevator. It was pretty clear renovations happened recently and the attention to detail shows. However they really need to change out some of the bedding ours looked clean but the thicker comforter layer had holes in it. Latterly looked like either something chewed tiny holes or it had trouble in the wash. It didn't bother me enough to request a change but just wanted it to be known in hopes that they'll toss it and replace it. The location is perfect if you enjoy downtown night life every club, bar and late night snackage is well within walking distance. I enjoyed it and would probably stay here again if I ever find myself in Birmingham.

    Noise and parking expensive

The noise outside was load at times and parking is way to expensive. The hotel should not charge that much to park overnight

Friendly staff, area subpar for cost

The staff was friendly and very helpful. My room had the air conditioning vent coming down in the room, ghetto. The elevator was broken too, more ghetto.

    Great Location!

Great location! The restaurant left a lot to be desired, however it wasn't a big issue as there are multiple places to eat that are within walking distance.

Beds and Couch are the equivalent of CONCRETE.

I stayed here for an appt that I had at UAB, as it was conveniently located right down the road and looked nice for the price. I have worked at a hotel before, so I have a pretty thorough understanding of how most (should) work. I had requested an early check-in, knowing fully well that it is NOT guaranteed, which is completely understandable, and I am a completely understanding person. I was so disappointed when we arrived at 12pm, hoping to get lucky. First of all, I knew not to call because I would most likely have been given the "check-in is not until 3:00pm" statement, because rooms may not be ready yet. I've BEEN there, in their shoes. I get it. So we went in person to the front desk. I was proven right, as the female clerk didn't even bother to check the system for availability, much less ask for my name or for a contact number in case a room became available sooner. She came off as short, off-putting, and downright rude when we walked in. Basically telling us check-in is 3pm and to go away. Once I explained to her that I had an appt at UAB at 2pm, and she saw my toddler in stroller, her demeanor suddenly changed and when she checked her system, a room was ready. This was just wanting to be lazy on her part. I would go out of my way to help someone try to get in early. She just didn't want to. The bed and couch felt like you were sitting/lying on concrete. The room was so cheap, like shelves uneven, falling down. It's like they just don't care here.

    Could be better

The room was clean but the shower needed to be redone and there was no WiFi even though it was said there was. The view from my window was of nothing but the (guessing) air conditioning units which wasn’t that big of a deal to me. Didn’t complain because I wasn’t there as much but definitely would like to see better from them. Parking was also an issue. They had Valet parking but due to the location of the hotel I didn’t find that out until I had already paid for public parking behind the hotel. There was a lot of homeless people are the hotel as well and that was unsettling but once again not that big of a deal

    Disappointed, to say the least

The room was smaller than we expected, but clean overall. Despite making a reservation for 4 adults, we were not given 4 sets of towels, and had to ask for more. The beds were not particularly comfy, either. Our neighbors in the hotel were screaming, banging on the walls, and blasting music all night long. It took over an hour to get someone from the front desk to come upstairs to ask them to quiet down. They stopped for a little while, but it eventually started back up. Every few minutes an extremely loud car would whip around the streets outside and rattle the walls. We got absolutely no sleep.

Room was very nice and clean. Staff was very friendly. Elevator doors sounded bad like they needed greased, but a really good stay.
