Perfect!
My wife and I came to London for our 10th wedding anniversary and searched lots of hotels online. We read many good reviews about St. Marins Lane and we are very pleased with our choice. The hotel is part of SBE properties where I have stayed here in the states and it was nothing less perfect. The rooms looked exactly like the pictures online. The bed, pillows and sheets were very comfortable. The water pressure was great. The AC and heat worked like a champ. The room is smaller than US counterparts but is what we expected coming to London and was well laid out - we had not problem on that account. The hotel staff were super accommodating and, in fact, surprised us with a complementary bottle of bubbly to help us celebrate our special occasion. We love great food and nightlife and this hotel is in to perfect spot in London to find those things if you are looking for them but quite if you are not. They are surrounded by dozens of great restaurants and several hip late night spots as well. The Hotel bar is a very "Miami" night club feel and was a great spot to start and finish the evening. We will return to London which was wonderful and we will only stay at St. Martins Lane!

Checked in, being Gold member, supposed to get a complimentary room upgrade, instead was told the upgraded room has only a King sized bed which was insufficient to accommodate 2 adults and one teenager. To resolve it, i can pay GBP$108 per night for the extra bed to get the upgraded room :( The hotel was kind enough to let me view the upgraded room but did not take up the offer as staying for 8 nights with extra bed cost would be exhorbitant. Anyway, stuck to the smaller sized room which we got used to in a while. The best thing about the hotel is it's walkable to Leicester Square station, Convent Gardens, St James Park, Trafaglar Square and many many more. Room service was good too, with them popping by in late afternoons to check if everything is in order or if any cleaning is required. Happy with room cleanliness but the floor tiles at room entrance and lift lobby could do with some cleaning. Staff was friendly, ready to help and offer service of breaking note of GBP 50 to smaller denomination.

Booked via Expedia and stayed for a total of 2 nights/ 3 days. Had made inquiries ahead for a late checkout - which the hotel told me they will confirm during check-in. Reception staff (so bad with names but if I remember correctly was Andreas) was very friendly and accommodating - recommended me to upgrade to a deluxe garden room upon asking for a smoking room (naturally with extra costs of course). Room quality was simple, no frills, far from fancy. But clean, neat, and tidy. Tried their continental breakfast which was to my liking and the room service was quite prompt, although it seemed they had forgotten my order on the second day - which they turned around rather quickly in 20 minutes or so. Checkout was smooth as well. Asked the hotel to arrange a chauffeured transportation to Horsley and they came back to recommend that I take Uber instead as costs were more cheaper - which suited me fine and was pleased with them having my best interests at heart. Very good location - within walking distance from Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, not to mention the Piccadilly Circus (I say walking distance but it was more like the hotel was right by it). If you are looking for a decent place equipped with friendly staff nearby the key attractions - would recommend this place.

The hotel lobby is chic but service was unsatisfactory. It took them 20 minutes to find my booking even after I showed them the Expedia confirmation . I had to take the luggage to my room and they didn’t even bother to accompany me to my room. It was not because they were busy . I was the only one checking in at that time . The room was all white and the decor was cold with a huge mirror at the right hand side of the bed which was weird. I didn’t like it at all and asked if they could remove it but they said no because they told me there was a huge mirror in all the rooms.

The hotel is Perfectly located for theatre land and many excellent bars and restaurants. Disappointed that it looks a little tired now, the lift areas and restaurant look dowdy - especially as Asia de Cuba is no longer there. Walls are grey and plain. The hotel is missing a bar in my opinion, yes there is blind spot - a nightclub type bar where you have to be 21 and a very small area called the den which is too small to accommodate the amount of hotel guests. We had nowhere to go with our 18 year old daughter post show which was a shame.
