AMAZING STAFF!!
The Hawthorne is an older hotel that was formerly owned by North Carolina Baptist Hospital/Wake Forest Medical School. We were treated so fine by the staff and management! The hotel is older, so there are some outdated features to the rooms, but they are comfortable, have a safe, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, etc. The air conditioning worked great, and the daily breakfast bar was very good. The staff and management make this hotel “excellent”! The staff, overall, is new because of the recent buyout. The general manager is professional and proud of her new staff. (We asked to speak with her because the staff was so friendly and accommodating) Please stay here! This hotel goes all out for its guests!

We stayed here because it is 2 minutes from Wake Forest Comprehensive Cancer Center and my husband was having chemo the next day. We were greeted with very friendly staff. Check in was quick and easy. The room was wonderful. It was spacious and very comfortable. The only complaint I have is our tub wasn't as clean as I'd like it to be. There were a few hairs that did not belong to us. Overall though, we loved it and will be staying here in the future!

Fantastic Location!
An older hotel in a great location. Short walk to downtown area restaurants and to BB&T stadium. Breakfast was delicious but the very best part was the service staff at breakfast. Everyone was greeted with a special greeting.

HVAC needs updating. No thermostat in room, just on/off, cool/heat dial and hi/lo fan switch. The room was a refrigerator when we entered, but got warm and stuffy during the night because we guessed wrong on where to set the dial.
