Perfect stay
Super friendly staff, especially Matthew who checked us in. Fresh clean renovated rooms, spacious, comfortable, well thought out. Hotel seemed spotless, cleaning staff seem to do a great job. Short walk to old town, where you can get a tram downtown for $2.50 Would recommend and would stay again if i were in San Diego. Amazing value for the incredibly reasonable price!

Liked room and bed, but not $50 deposit
The hotel in currently being redecorated. We stayed in a refurbished room and it was clean and smart. The beds were extremely comfortable and overall the accommodation and room rate represent good value. However, I personally would not choose this hotel again due to its policy of charging a $50 deposit (even to prepaid customers) on arrival. This deposit is refundable at the discretion of the hotel based on an assessment of your room by housekeeping after your departure. When I insisted on my room being inspected and my deposit refunded prior to my departure (I gave them an hour's notice) I was told by reception that I was being argumentative.

Hotel nice, guests... Not so nice
Newly remodeled, nice rooms, nice staff, close to the beach and Sea World. The negative about this place is it's EXTREMELY NOISY! The walls must be very thin because you could hear everything! Each night our family was woken up to loud people hanging out outside and talking on their phones right outside our door. In the middle of the first night a man kept knocking at the door and when we peered out the window he was smiling holding up a donut.... Shady characters seemed to come out at night. If you are on a budget and don't mind the crazies it's not a bad place to stay.

Very Good8.0
It was just an overnight between flights. Close enough to the airport for reasonable Uber and overall cost. Newly remodeled so clean and comfortable; restaurants nearby but otherwise the neighborhood was a little questionable.
