Love, Love, Love, the Sunset Plaza Hotel
I loved the Sunset Plaza Hotel. I chose it was one of the least expensive ones offered by Hotels.com in the West Hollywood area, where I wanted to attend a book signing at a book shop on Sunset Blvd. Everything was perfect about this hotel. I arrived at 10:30 AM, and check in isn't until 3. I expected to have a long wait to get a room, but the desk clerk said, "Let me see if we have a room." She did, and I was given a room key, the wi fi code, told where the included breakfast would be, told the hours (they serve until 11, which is unusual), and then invited to go eat then, as they were still serving, if I wanted to do so. I was hungry as I had set the alarm for 2:45 AM, and it was lunch time in my home of Nashville. The dining area was lovely, and they have two on two floors. They had scrambled eggs, egg whites, boiled eggs, bacon, link sausages, potatoes, waffles and/or pancakes, fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, bread, bags, tea, and coffee. That served as lunch both days of my stay. My room was lovely, with a King sized bed, microwave, refrigerator, nice desk, lovely chair in which to read, and nice sized bath, with nice toiletries. The pool area is beautiful, with lovely flowers, and to my amazement, there was even a nice green , living plant in my room. There was also a gym and an office area with a computer and printer on my floor. The staff was lovely and accommodating. The food, at breakfast, was kept replenished right up to the 11 ending time.

Fantastic hotel - loved the location so much!
Loved the location - it's so convenient to walk to so many places off the strip, which we really loved. We were like a 5 minute walk from Chateau Marmont. The room was HUGE! We were on the first-ish floor, which was fine except there were a lot of stairs to get to the room, which was not fun with our luggage. Other than that, our stay at the hotel was amazing! The staff was really nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was so helpful and convenient. They do not have a room service option for lunch and dinner but they do have a relationship with the restaurant across the street - when we were there it was called the Saddle Ranch Chop House. PLEASE do not ever eat there. That was our only bad experience - we ordered from there whenever we first arrived and the food was horrendous, absolutely un-eatable and the restaurant staff was even worse. They wouldn't speak to us on the phone and we were treated horrible. The hotel staff unfortunately couldn't do anything, we understood that - but if I can recommend one thing, it's never to eat there.

Pros and cons
We booked this hotel for 2 nights. Upon arrival they said the rooms overlooking the pool were unavailable. We were given a room on the lower floor downstairs from the pool area. When we went in the room was not yet ready and beds had not been made. They said there were no other rooms so we went outside by the pool area for a while and left our stuff in the room. When we came back we discovered an electronic game that my son had bought 30 min. Before was missing. After notifying the manager to ask the maids if they had found it, it was returned to us along with one of our phone chargers. Giving them the benefit of the doubt they may have thought it was left there by the previous customers but they should have checked or at least left in lost and found. The room had a very low ceiling and a private patio with a broken little table. The furniture needed updating. That night it sounded like a herd of buffalos trampling down the hallway above us. The next night they moved us to a better room because of these issues. It was like night and day. The room was super nice with better furniture, no noise and overlooking the lovely pool area. Request one of these rooms and you will be happy with your stay. It's a good location for Hollywood sightseeing, nice pool and beds are comfortable. The manager was very nice and willing to resolve issues. Lock your valuables in the safe just in case. Breakfast was good, eat on the 3rd floor it's better than the 4th floor one.

Great hotel! Five star
Great hotel! Five star! I was very very very surprised of the niceness the classiness of this hotel. It is wedged in between many five star hotels. Who obviously have an attitude. This hotel is worth every penny I paid per night and I got a great deal. The only suggestion I would have his number one more variety on the vending machines and or an open room that still has fruit and coffee in it all night. Could be by the concierge’s desk. And do not have hidden costs. There is no exclamation on Expedia or the website that it’s $18 a day to park your car which I’m grateful that there was a parking garage. Or that they would run your cardto make sure it went through for the first night it’s a hold your room. I understand the reasoning but it felt very very underhanded and sneaky to me and that part I didn’t like. The brunch is so great the rooms that they’re in a smaller pack up easily when you’re busy it’s a nice variety of food with fresh eggs bacon eggs white bread for toast fresh waffles to be made cereal fruit coffee juice water etc. Is close to everything and it has a Texas stop right out front. I would stay here again if necessary. And I would recommend it to my friends. And again I would hope for disco I understand the reasoning but it felt very very underhanded and sneaky to me and that part I didn’t like. The breakfast so great the rooms that they’re in a smaller pack up easily when you’re busy is a nice variety of food with fresh eggs bacon eggs whites

Above and beyond expectations
First off, I was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic location of this hotel. I haven’t stayed in this part of LA before and wasn’t sure what the area would be like. It turned out to be on the better part of the Sunset Strip, with nearby conveniences and entertainment. There was a fun, lively restaurant across the street, the Saddle Ranch (try the vegan burger ;) ). The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful from the start. Everyone we encountered was so kind and went out of their way to meet our needs. Then I was impressed by how luxurious the accommodations were. I’m used to Best Westerns being satisfactory but this one was exceptional. The suite was spacious and clean, complete with French doors separating the sitting/ bedroom area and a spa tub in the bathroom. The kitchenette was very useful as well. There was a complimentary breakfast until around 11 that had a lot of delicious options. 24/7 free coffee and tea were a bonus! We also enjoyed the pool and courtyard area. The privacy and surrounding foliage created a serene and restful environment. It was a good fit for lying by the pool or swimming. Plus kid friendly while still being a relaxing spot for adults. I will definitely be visiting this hotel again soon and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in West Hollywood!
