A stay here regularly as I work locally. The hotel is beautiful, stunning surroundings and very well maintained. You now have to pay for parking even as a overnight guest, £12 a night. Breakfast is excellent, hot and cold lots of choice. I would happily rate it 5* if the service was faster. Check in/check out take way too long. There’s rarely a queue but even so it’s a good 10 mins or longer. You can pay for parking and breakfast on arrival but they can’t give you a receipt for this until you check out. If this were a possibility you could simply drop your key card and leave.

I don't understand why they charge £12 for parking when you are a Guest. Book breakfast at check in and its £12 instead of £18. Lovely views at the front over the common and at the rear over the gardens and I had a view of the fence. They did offer me an upgrade at a cost of £40.I did get early check in

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly, helpful staff to welcome you. Set in the lovely Cannizaro Park, the hotel is a great starting point if youre keen on walking and is also very close to many shops and restaurants 5-10 minutes walk away.

Excellent stay, great staff. I will be back again. Small point. Staff should be more aware / observant at check in that older people or people with poor mobility may not be able to use the bath. Ideally a more access friendly room should have been offered at check-in. On arrival we were given an upgraded room which was excellent but it turned out the room was at the furthest end of the corridor and required descending a few steps. Only an inconvenience but worth making the check-in staff aware that they should think more about what a specific guest may require as they arrive. Will also make me aware when booking that I should raise this at the time of booking. Once again though, a great stay, great ambience and great staff.

We upgraded our room to the Perrier Jouet room which was spacious and had a lovely comfy bed overlooking the car park. The room itself was rather dreary with terrible lighting, a tired sofa, dreary decor and carpeting. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The room could really do with an uplift - for nearly £300 a night. Dinner was in the lovely glasshouse. Slightly disappointing meal as my pasta (spaghetti a la vongole) was swimming in a watery juice which was quite wrong. My husband had the sausage pasta which he liked but found a bit ordinary. I’m not sure we’d rush back.

The hotel was very nice, having to pay an extra £12.00 to park was a bit steep especially as it was already quite expensive to stay.
