Exceptional 10.0
Great hotel
We had a lovely room with a balcony. The bed was comfortable and there was very good soundproofing. Plenty of room to sit and relax. I enjoyed very much having a swim in the pool. The only let down was the breakfast and the food in the East restaurant. It was perfectly adequate but really not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.

Fair 4.0
Poor service and ongoing building work
Construction work ongoing around the property which is noisy and ruins views. Housekeeping is particularly noisy in the mornings. Room service breakfast was poorly executed. Attempted to contact duty manager and general manager with no luck. It’s a nice enough hotel, my experience was simply poor.

Good 6.0
Over-priced. Rooms require an update
Value for money is poor. Originally placed in an unsatisfactory room - strong odour plus tired furniture & paintwork. Paid extra to have breakfast & a balcony in room. There was scaffolding attached to our balcony & the view was a building site (we were not advised of this when booking or checking in.) I contacted the front desk & thankfully we were moved to a much nicer room. However I thought the rate was expensive and I have stayed in nicer rooms in more central locations in the city centre for the same price.

Very good 8.0
A pleasant stay but let down by breakfast
Our stay was pleasant. Staff were helpful. Some of the hotel could look tidier, the corridors were a bit shabby, with room numbers fallen off several doors, carpet didn’t appear as clean as it could. Just not the best outward appearance for a hotel of this standard. One major criticism would be breakfast. Arriving at 10am on Sunday should not be unreasonable (when it ends at 11am). A lot of food was gone, extremely slow to be replaced (eggs and milk specifically) and some just wasn’t replaced at all such as bread rolls which the kitchen ran out of?!. Not good enough when paying extra for breakfast.
