    great hotel

    just perfect location and the room was big enough, the balcony was with amazing view and big enough for even laid down, great place, the service and friendliness of the members of the staff were just perfect, from reception to waiters . will go again . As the weather was great, obviously the road was a little bit noise, but we were very ready for bed.

    Poor service

    The hotel was very busy, so busy that housekeeping didn’t service the room. Reception were surprised that this bothered me?! A member of staff then put some clean towels in the bathroom but didn’t remove the dirty ones. She also left some more tea/coffee but left the dirty used mugs. The restaurant was a shambles, waiting ages for drinks etc. I would not stay here again.

    Average at the seafront

    I would not rate the hotel as more than “just average”. This is a hotel built in 1972 and refurbished in 2015. It is in an excellent location overlooking the seafront. We had two executive rooms. The balconies are long and adequate in width. They are able to accommodate two or three chairs and a small table. The executive rooms are spacious. However the furnishings and decorations are tired and outdated. In our two executive rooms, one had a shower and deep bath. The other only had a deep bath with wall attached shower. It is far too deep to be appropriate for the less able and older. The one with the shower cubicle was unacceptably small almost to the point of being tiny. Despite the refurbishment in 2015 many opportunities for a root and branch improvement were lost. Later installed cabling goes in plastic ducting around doors and across walls. On either side of the bed there is only one plug. In both rooms the air-conditioning had been blocked and therefore did not function to either warm or cool. A freestanding portable radiator is provided in the wardrobe as well as a standpoint fan to deal with warmer weather. The bathrooms are large but had no extractor fans and were without windows. The lighting when it existed was in the wrong place to be of any particular advantage. The reception area tries too hard to reflect a 1970s style. The attempt fails because again it is without much inspiration and certainly does not speak of luxury. The hotel does have underground par

    Car Park NOT covered with CCTV as displayed

    Our rented vehicle got damaged whilst parked in the underground car park of the hotel. When we reported the damage, we were advised that the area wasn’t covered by the CCTV so no further assistance could be offered. I would strongly urge anyone to check exactly where CCTV does cover before parking a vehicle in this car park as we have now lost the excess damage costs on our hire vehicle. Equally, very disappointed with the hotel for displaying signs EVERYWHERE in the car park stating CCTV operating in the area , yet when you need to call upon it that the area isn’t covered…. An unhappy expensive work visit

    Ok if your just on the lash for a night

    Room was a bit tired. Sink was trendy but not really functional as plug didn’t really seal properly. Breakfast although ok was 1 rasher of bacon, 1 small sausage and literally a spoon full of beans. Luckily I wasn’t that hungry.

    Hotel was fine and in a good position on the seafront. Both receptions and restaurant staff were helpful whenever I needed to ask them for anything. Our room was on the side of the hotel and although on the fourth floor it was still very noisy. Breakfast was good although very busy, the room just isn’t big enough for a hotel of this size. Disappointed with the maid service, didn’t turn up one day and had to request them the following day. Disappointed that there was a lot of guests in the reception, restaurant, lifts who were not wearing masks in line with Covid regulations that were not challenged by staff as to if they were exempt from wearing them.

    Hotel good, parking not so good

    Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was fine, bed a bit uncomfortable. The communal areas and breakfast were good and great location on the quieter part of the main seafront. Downside was the parking. Car park was tiny and dark, poorly laid out and spaces too small for modern cars. If you want to park get there early or you wont get a space as many cars have to use 2 spaces due to the size of the spaces
