Beautiful Countryside Hotel
Everything was on point during our stay except the service in the restaurant. For both dinner and breakfast, the service was not in line with my expectations and the level of service from the rest of the staff.

Great except for ants
Really lovely property, gardens and pool were great. Unfortunately couldn’t get booked for a spa treatment which was disappointing. Dinner and breakfast were really lovely, with plenty of food. Only downside is during the night our bathroom was overrun with ants. We rung as soon as we woke up to report this however nobody came, so we had to negotiate using bathroom around ants. When raised this at checkout were told they thought we wanted them to deal with the issue once we’d left.

Helpful staff but a massive let down
Room lovely and staff really attentive. Staff tried so hard to look after you but I was so disappointed with our stay. It was absolute chaos and on days 2 and 3. We waited 20 and 35 minutes respectively to be seated for breakfast. We ordered tea and cake on day 2, only for them to realise an hour later that our order had got lost and asked if we wanted to reorder. During checkout they charged me £149 for three night’s breakfast even though my booking said it was included. They did refund it when I showed them my paperwork, but massive error and lucky I had my documentation with me. The spa bath in the suite was one of our reasons to book, yet the spa jets were so dirty that it could not be used. They said they would clean it the next day, but black and brown stuff still spat out of the jets when turned on. I was offered another room when I first raised the issue, but it was 11pm and my son was asleep. I just wanted it cleaned! The indoor spa was tiny - one dry sauna, a small pool and a very small whirlpool. There were a maximum of 10 seats, I think 4 were beds - therefore nowhere to rest up. The outdoor pool was packed so it was just too busy to relax for me. The building and gardens are lovely. The staff try really hard and are very helpful. However so disappointed about the bath, the spa and the overcrowding that appeared to be too much for the number of staff. Doubt I would go back, particularly at that price.
