Good
I had previously stayed at the sister property next door, Grand at Trafalgar, which as the front desk told me, is the same company. On that stay the room and service were great. I was looking forward to returning to London for a birthday celebration and decided to stay at the Club Quarter side. Check-in, as before was very friendly and efficient. Our room, unfortunately was not of the same quality as before. Room 201. The windows were frosted so you could not look out of them...and they did not open. There was no natural light at all. We had tickets for a show that night so didn't have time to return to front desk. That night, we discovered there was no ventilation in the room. No thermostat, No bathroom fan. Nothing. And since the windows didn't open, the only fresh air was by opening the door. We had an early morning tour planned the next day. We came back late in the day and by that time, knowing we had another early morning, it made no sense to change rooms. I am sure they would have been accommodating and provided an alternate room. I'm just surprised that such a room is even part of there inventory. We are in the process of planning a return visit and this hotel is still a great location and has a very friendly staff. Just be prepared that there is a wide range of rooms available. * On a side note, we are planning on returning in March, 2020...booking direct with the hotel offers a higher rate than through expedia.

Seven Nights of Unbearable Temperatures
We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past ten years. Being familiar with the hotel we made our booking six months n advance and asked for certain accommodations. When we arrived we were directed to a room on the ninth floor. Initially, we were satisfied, but we had trouble getting the room to cool off. The following morning the desk clerk advised s how to set the AC for maximum relief. We set the AC as directed and left for the day. Upon returning that evening we discovered that the housekeeper had turned off the AC ad openeid the window (which was broken down and impossible to adjust). We complained to the night manager and his solution was to put out the "Do Not Disturb" sign which would alsomean no clean linen, TP, etc. We put a note for the housekeeper and thqat night the room was as we had left it but still over 80 degrees. The next day the building engineer showed up and explained that this wing needed updatng and that the sun beating on the wing all day led to temperature problems that were not amenable to fixing until the wing was updated. We were offered another room across the hall (but still in the same wing. Tho hotel manager offered us a broken fan and finally gave us a certificate for a free night.

Overall good hotel
We stayed here for two days last weekend. The location is just marvellous, and also the reason we chose it. The decision was proven good when we arrived - it´s situated literally 50 meters from Trafalgar Square. We got there before noon, so there were unfortunately no rooms available upon arrival, but that was no issue as they were more than happy to keep our luggage, so that we could stroll out in the city for a bite. We returned around 2PM and were lucky enough to get a room a little bit earlier than the usual 3PM check in, which was nice, espesically since Trump was in town and there were major protest on the streets outside. The rooms were big, and we had more than enough space in there for two people. They were also really quiet. We could just barely hear the loud screaming from the protest in our room on the 8th floor. The bathrooms were a bit claustrophobic, but I´m more than happy to oblige some bathroom space for the good of roomspace, so it wasn´t really a problem. What was a problem though was the lack of sugar in the room. We had no sugar to put in our tea period, and the reception didn´t seem to have any either. The breakfast was very expensive, so we didn´t really consider that. You can get a decent English breakfast just down the street towards Trafalgar if you fancy that for 6 pound, anyways. Overall a decent stay. If you plan to book, you might want to consider doing it through their app - it might get you an upgrade, or even a free night in the future.

Disappointing
I don’t usually rate hotels but this one was very disappointing. The hotel is outdated and seems dirty. There was evidence of mold in the bathroom. Upon arrival the toilet was not flushing properly. I asked it be fixed while we were at dinner and was told it would be. We arrived back and no one had fixed it. In the morning we called again about the toilet not properly flushing. We were told there was no maintenance person on property until 8:30 am. One showed up as we were in the middle of getting dressed to check out. The air had difficulties cooling the room. The air fan was also extremely noisy while it tried to cool the room. On numerous occasions beginning around 7:30 am we asked that a cab for the airport be scheduled for us at 1 pm. The cab did not arrive until 1:20 pm and my family along with another one were left to figure out whether it was our cab or theirs with no hotel staff in sight to help us work it out. When the cab was running late and we asked the staff to confirm, all we received was that it was on its way but no one at the hotel bothered to ask the cab company what that meant so we knew whether we should call another cab or an Uber so as not to miss an international flight. The experience was very disappointing for the $425 we paid for one night. We had previously stayed at the Nadler Hotel in Soho. Your money is better spent there. I would not recommend this property.

Fabulous London location
So many things to do in the area and very close to a Tube stop. I booked a standard room (versus a club level room) as there were going to be 2 of us and for central London the size of the room was wonderful. It was clean and the decor was outstanding. As with pretty much any hotel I have ever been in, the soundproofing between floors was not fabulous as we could here the person above us walking around. The reason that I did not give the hotel a 5 rating was that Club Quarters are known for there extra perks (I have stayed at several of them around London) and this location had none of these perks. Each location normally has coffee and tea machines in the lobby along with fruit and snacks, etc. There was a room with computers to use but the setup is odd in that you have to come down the elevator, cross the lobby and go up another elevator to get to them. I was travelling with my mother who is an avid coffee drinker but since there was no coffee available I had to get dressed each morning to go out into the cold to get her a coffee. I will stress again, though, the size and decor of the room and location were outstanding.
