The room was newly refurbished and the staff was very very kind and helpful! The major let down, to no fault of the on hand staff, was that the wifi didn't work 😒 It shut down on Friday, and didn't work the entire weekend.

The price we paid was very cheap (£150 for 2 nights, family room) the room was big, the kids had their own room, however it is in need of some love. It felt quite run down. There were a few stains on the sheets and marks in the bathroom. However while we were there there was some painting taking place and we saw new carpets in one of the reception areas so looks like it is being updated. The staff were really friendly and helpful and for what we paid it was reasonable. We didn’t use the bar and I don’t think they offer breakfast.

The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment, and there are some areas that are not yet complete and not started yet, with a noticeable paint odor. The room itself was refurbisht clean nacely decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. However, the bathroom could benefit from refurbishment as there were several visible "snags" that detracted from its overall appearance. The staff at the reception, bar, and restaurant were all very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, though the coffee could be improved. The restaurant is definitely in need of refurbishment. The hotel's central location made it convenient to access everything I needed. I will certainly return again.

The hotel was undergoing some work when we visited, new carpets and paint etc. which was nice to see, The hotel is big and has a good bit of character so it’s good that it’s being looked after so well. The room itself was recently renovated and very nice. The hotel overall needs a lot of attention. The building looks very run down. The lobby has had some renovations but lacks sophistication, The staff were all VERY friendly and helpful. Having a restaurant/bar in the hotel was a nice conveience. The hotel is off to the side of much of the city center but easily accessed and walkable to restaurants, bars, stores and bus station, There is also a bus stop just across the street that has a popular line running on it. I enjoyed the city bus ride to Alton Towers, I could walk to local canals and parks.

The staff were amazing and very helpful. The bar literally just opened so there was no beer on tap so that was quite disappointing. The shower was very temperamental and either burning hot or freezing cold and despite the housekeeping trying to fix it, it clearly needs replacing. The hotel is clearly being revamped as there were rooms only on second floor available. Overall- ok stay for a cheap price.

This hotel looked ok on the website,how wrong could I be!!!!! It looks awful from the outside and to be fair doesn't get much better on the inside. From thread bare carpets,damaged paintwork,damp smell and pool and gym out of action. The only good thing was that my room had been refurbished and was ok. If your going to renovate the property at least close it down,don't expect customers to stay in this vile place.... Never again would I stay even if it was free... I stay in 3/4 hotels throughout the country each week and this has to be one of the worst yet..
