Hotel was being refurbished so not in a very good state outside. The inside was ok but very dated. The room had a ceiling fan which was great as heatwave when we stsyed. The Staff very friendly. The bar was closed at 10.00 so couldnt get an after dinner drink. We were only there for one night for the price it was ok.

My overall experience was great. The hotel is going through improvements scaffolding outside et cetera. Some of the hotel is very tired. The reception area is lovely. The staff are wonderful and is in a fantastic place for everything in Brighton. I’ve stayed there before and would stay there again I’m sure when everything has finished the hotel will be a wonderful place once again. Staff were very helpful.

The rooms are very outdated I know it’s an old hotel but the furniture in the rooms was terrible. Needed a new toilet seat as one in my room was stained and limescale same as the bath Location is good and nice when you have a sea view. Personal preference would stay in a more updated hotel next time

My wife and I loved this currently old style quirky hotel although the hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment which did not spoil our stay. The hotel was central to everything. All the staff we came across were very friendly, happy to help and tried their best to accommodate us. Breakfast is good and plentiful and a lot of choice. Our room on the first floor west wing was lovely big including the comfortable bed. The only small downsize was maybe the toiler/shower need upgrading and the lighting/electrics as well. I did get the feeling that the hotel was trying to keep the standard high and their best to keep customers satisfied maybe because the refurbishment but none of that affected us. We would certainly come back again

The professionalism of the front of house staff made my check in very smooth . I am very pleased with the “ language “ used . No team members , they refer to each other respectfully by addressing each other as collègues . I like this approach . The lady in the front desk has it all going on , in her busy busy day , she took time to recognise me and wave as I entered the lift . I look forward to returning soon . My stay last night at the old ship was very good. The room was just right especially the comfy bed. The only problem i encountered was the sink was blocked with the water not going down the drain after use. I did mention this to a member of staff at the reception when i was checking out.
