The location sells this Lodge Hotel.
Excellent lake, forest and mountain location, ideal for walking. Hotel and rooms somewhat tired in places. Restaurant service indifferent.

Recommended, beautiful location
Really enjoyed our one night stay at Emerald Lake lodge. There was a bit of a way to carry our cases as we were not staying near the main building, but we probably could have got help if we wanted. Our queen room was really comfortable and a good size. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. The ice machine wasn't working when we were there, but they were happy to give me some at the check in desk. We were on the second floor and had beautiful views of the lake between the tree tops.

Great location but poor hotel
This is a really charming hotel in a perfect setting. However, we did not have a good experience. You cannot park next to the hotel and so you have to park 1km away and take a shuttle bus. This took far too long to come - about 30 minutes. It was very hot on the day and we had to sit in a stuffy room with no drinks available - which after a long drive was not appreciated. On arrival at reception we were asked to wait for an employee to take us to our room - after waiting outside on a pavement for 15 minutes we gave up. The hotel was also very hot and not equipped to deal with hot weather - even at 11pm it was too hot to sit in the restaurant without sweating. Food was expensive and bland. There was a wedding the night we were there and being in a room with no air-conditioning had to open the window to keep it bearable. The loud music continued until about midnight. The room looked very nice and was comfortable. However, there was no TV which was surprising.

Emerald Lake April 2018
We have stayed at the Emerald Lake Lodge now 4 times. Three in the winter and one in the late Summer! The Food is great, the menu could be a little larger as after three nights or so you run out of Choices! The Rooms are very nice!
