Great Location
2 minutes walk from metro this unassuming hotel is tucked away close to a super bistro frequented by local people and overlooking a small park. The rooms were clean, pleasantly decorated with comfortable beds, TV and coffee making facilities (mine even had a balcony overlooking a pretty penthouse garden). Although staff varied in their friendliness, they were helpful and efficient. The more than adequate Breakfast selection was included in the price.

Feel-like-home neighborhood, good value
Was a short 3 night stay for us. The bed was comfortable, the neighborhood was nice and quiet. There is a small park within 1 minute walk, lots of coffee shops and restaurants. Feels like home, local people are very friendly, with good sense of humor. Montmartre is within 15 minutes walking distance. I liked that. Here's what I didn't like: -- the room was very hot. A/C wasn't functional. -- there are only 2 power outlets and one was broken -- small room, can barely move around -- no view (less noise, ok) In general, it's a very good value for the price, I can recommend staying here to someone who is planning to enjoy Paris and not be in the room all day.

My week at Hotel de L'Ocean
I stayed at the hotel for a week due to a lapse in my housing. The location was not in the best area at night (I ordered dinner delivered due to a few safety concerns after 9 pm). However, the lobby and the rooms are beautiful and incredibly comfortable. Just keep in mind that there is 1 elevator and it can take some time to get to the lobby due to congestion. The breakfast buffet was great and the man working it very sweet. The only issue with staff that I would have to bring up was the callousness of one of the front desk guys. After living there for 5 days, he demanded that I move rooms early in the morning for my last night since they wanted to house more guests and move me into a smaller room since 'I am only one person'. He didn't ask me nicely, he didn't offer me something in compensation, he just demanded that I change rooms early on Easter Sun. I was so taken aback, and infuriated, that room had been my home for most of the week. In the morning, the room attendant asked when I was moving rooms, and I said I really didn't want to since it was where all my stuff was and it was my last night anyway. He informed me that I shouldn't have to move and he called the front desk and told him to find another way. It was so incredibly sweet and the support staff at that place is truly wonderful. I just wouldn't deal with the Saturday front desk guy. If my parents come to visit me, and they stay there, it'll be during the week.
