Went out of there way to make our stay delightful
We took the train to Vancouver to start our cruise. The hotel is very close to pier. We got to hotel at 1:00 am. The front desk attendant met us at the door and gave us our key (room prepaid) nothing else. The next morning fire alarm went off at 10:30. A little panicky and fire alarm going off quite loud. My husband as to send an email to new job. They did the email without charge and had an employee walk us and our handled our bags to cruise ship. Went out of there way to help us. Magnificent room, more than we expected. Thank you Auberge and staff

Soul-less and confusing
Very soul-less. The bed was comfy and the room clean, but the hotel is confusing all round as it used to be a private club and still feels like it. It is poorly signposted outside. There was no desk in my room, just a small low table which was very annoying and meant I had to work on my bed. There is no room service option. The breakfast is terrible, just lots of bread products and a few token bits of fruit. The whole place just feels like a badly converted club. The breakfast room is just a few old rooms opened up. To get to the gym you go through a strange maze of office style doors that feels like a typical Russian office block. Upon arrival at the gym I was told that the gym is not really part of the hotel but the club but I could still use it if I wanted. Just very confusing and not welcoming in the slightest. I never felt comfortable here and would never stay here again.

Great Location
The Auberge Hotel is located in the best part of downtown Vancouver to be able to explore the best parts of the city, with some of the best site seeing of the city close by, or easily accessible. Likewise, there were some fantastic restaurants within a 5 -10 minute walk. The hotel is a converted apartments complex so the layout is a little different to a conventional hotel but that doesn't pose a problem. Likewise, so are some of the services available, but its of a good standard and central. It has a great gym and pool area and the complementary breakfast is a good start to the day. We'd use it again if in the city.
