Location Great, Service good, Internet Goofy
Hera is in a great location with very kind staff. But, they designed their internet log on system for the benefit of the IT person and not the customer. I had to call and then go to the lobby 2X to get logged on for me and my wife and son. When I complained, the staff defended the system saying is was for security and designed like the airport. Ridiculous....they know who we are, our credit card, our address everything. Hera Hotel is not an airport. Why not give a simple 8 digit code like everybody else and be done with it? Silly and waste of time.

Athens stay
Hotel was helpful in allowing us to park our car in the small parking area for free. Room was comfortable, excellent location. View of Old buildings from our room, but we didn't pay for a view so we didn't expect much to look at! There was some noise, I guess from building around, but nothing awful. Staff were nice.

Dissappointing stay
Good location but spoilt for us by not able to use bath as plugs removed from rooms due to some water issue. Particularly requested room with bath as essential for us after full day sightseeing in foot & hotel staff seemed pretty indifferent. Also their roof top restaurant was closed & had been looking forward to dining there with Acropolis views we never saw

Mostly good
We stayed at Hera Hotel for 4 nights over new year. It’s in a great location and we had a good view of the Acropolis from our balcony, which was nice especially during the fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

Breakfast was great, including healthy options and things for vegetarians and vegans.

I have a few negative comments which is why I’ve given 4 vs 5 star review...

First there was quite a bit of orangey grime/mould/similar around the bath... don’t think this should be the case given it’s a 4-star hotel.

Our room was nice although the sofa bed for our daughter needs replacing, it was creaky and sunk in the middle.

We didn’t eat in the restaurant as the menu wasn’t very vegetarian friendly with only one main course option... but we had cocktails there one evening which was nice.

Very annoyingly at 2am after New Year’s Eve the staff were moving furniture in the restaurant above our room and woke us all up. Why it had to be done then I don’t understand. My husband went up there at 2.20am, in his pyjamas to complain. When we checked out we complained again, and the person we spoke to said sorry but was quite dismissive. Only when I explicitly asked for some compensation did he knock something off of our bill.

It spoiled our last day as we were all quite tired...

Otherwise we had a nice stay.

Too hot
The hotel was beautiful and we had no complaints. The only thing that could have been better for us is that we had aircon rather that heating but we came from Scotland and found Athens hot compared to the locals
