Great service
We went to pinestone for a night as we were dropping our son to camp the next day. Hotels.com confirmed our reservation... But when we got to the hotel they did not have a reservation for us. Jenny at the front desk was fantastic at finding the best solution she could and for making our stay great despite not being able to give us the room we booked.

Everything was fine except the breakfast buffet. The toaster took about ten minutes to dry out your bread and they would run out of an item then you would have to ait 15 minutes for it too be replaced. This type of breakfast is usually included so for the price it is better to dine somewhere else. Quite surprised that this is what they had to offer.

The hotel is beautiful and the stay was great - very relaxing. The only issue we had was that we were told the restaurant would be open until 11pm but when we went down at 10:40pm we were told that it was closing at 10:45 because it was so quiet. We had to go out to find something to eat and in a little town like Haliburton, there are very few options. Either change the hours officially and let the front desk know so they do not misinform the guests or keep the restaurant open for the entire time as stated.

Our room was on a floor which did not have an elevator or ramp even though we advised at time of booking that we had young infant (5 weeks old)! We had to struggle with all our stuff up and down 2 flights of stairs. At check in I inquired about the accessibility and told them we had a lot of stuff but the response was sorry there is nothing we can do - they didn't offer to have someone help us either. The newly renovated restaurant (Stone 21) is also down stairs and again no elevator access to it. I assume there was a ramp somewhere but when I asked about it the staff were not very forthcoming with information. Also the new restaurant interior lacks atmosphere and cosiness.

Beautiful but don't make people sign out towels
We go to Pinestone a few times each summer. The property is beautiful and it's always relaxing/quiet. Love the lake where we fish! Love having the spa on the property. Really quiet if you stay in the back of the property (in the Fairway). Delicious fish restaurant in town (Baked and Battered). One downside...Pinestone has implemented a number of cost-cutting measures like you have to sign out a towel now if you want to go swimming. Stop that! Resorts don't do stuff like that.
