Deerhurst Resort
Deerhurst -disappointing
We arrived to find the hotel practically deserted . Restaurant was closed and we had to eat breakfast , lunch and dinner in the only open cafe . No room service . The rooms were seperate to building and everything locally was closed as apparently the season hadn't started . They didn't tell us that when we booked . The staff were pleasant , but there was nothing exciting about this stay . We ended up watching movies in our room !

Deerhurst Resort
My girlfriend and I visited Deerhurst last fall and loved it. We decided to visit again and tour the wedding venues they have available. Deerhurst offers free electric vehicle charging (J1772 and Tesla) which is a great incentive if you drive an EV. The resort is surrounded by beautiful lakes and golf greens. In summer you can canoe in the nearby lake (included with hotel stay) or hike around. The room I stayed in (Pavilion) is spacious and very clean. Depending on occupancy they offer a breakfast buffet (Eclipse restaurant) which is quite good. You can also opt for restaurants nearby in Huntsville which is about 15 minutes drive. It's a great place to stay if you want to relax and take in the scenery or if you're visiting Algonquin. There are also on site entertainments like room escapes, spa, rock climbing, and paintball. I didn't bother since they are a bit on the pricey side. Overall excellent resort.

Great location horrible service and administration
The bad: we had to wait over an hour and a half after our check in time in order for our room to be ready and then we were given a room with two queen beds when we booked a king. At first Meaghan back to the desk to let me know if the error they pretty much said too bad all the kings are booked. And then have to spend the first hour of my vacation talking to a supervisor getting it straightened out who then gave us an upgrade to a condo that had a king bed. it might also be worth mentioning that I had booked this and checked on the booking in a month and advance and I’m eight months pregnant at the time on a baby Moon getaway with my fiancé to be. So the last thing I want to hear was too bad. upon checking into the condo we found that it was barely clean there were a number of things that weren’t completed and the unit including the dishes from the previous guests, vacuuming/dusting. Wow do you want to about this time of year so I didn’t see it worth going back and complaining and ruining more time out of my vacation but was very disappointed in the cleanliness upon arrival to a “upgraded unit” The good: The grounds were nice and the location was beautiful. We ended up having to pay mandatory $40 a day resort fee which we didn’t know about in advance and We were in the off-season and there were absolutely no amenities additional to the room that we could use at this point other than the pool and hot tub which were off limits for me.

Cozy getaway with spectacular view & great spa
We had heard Deerhurst is this fabulous spa resort place in the Muskokas so we booked a birthday romantic weekend getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had a room overlooking the water, in the Bayshore (1) building. The room was large but quite dated and mediocre with few amenities. The bathroom was tiny, not big enough for both of us to be in there at the same time, the toilet was running the whole weekend, a piece on the heater was broken, and that kind of thing. We expected more. To their credit, when we asked to be moved to a more up-to-date suite, they offered us a room in the main building, but with a view of the parking lot. We opted to keep our spectacular view and they offered us a breakfast voucher which was nice. They mentioned that Bayshore (1) is the original historical 100-year-old building and they are trying to find ways to maintain its historic meaning. We took advantage of the pool and hot tub which were very nice, and we had couples massages at the Spa, which was lovely. Overall I was expecting a more high-end experience but we did have a really nice time there anyway.

Very Good8.0
Decent, but could have been so much better.....
Ok, the location is saving this place, but with some more care, it could be amazing. From a hot tub that was so foamy, you knew it just wasn't right, to the dated décor, and sliding door that is sealed shut despite having an amazing lake view. Like, the pillows.....two tiny pillows for a queen bed. Really? Pool was good, kids play gym and arcade was good (but overpriced). Also, the resort fee is extortion!!!
