decent location, expensive but it is New York.
Stayed here over New Years week, cost me almost $500 for it. But thats to be expected for New York at that time of the year. the staff were mostly friendly, some less so. had a lift but was very slow so I usually walked and I was on the 5th floor. my room was quite big (think it used to be a 4 bed room) and cleaned daily but very very comfy. One of the showers I used I almost got a 1st degree burn off due to the heat from it and only a microwave to cook dinner. Location is quite good. near 1,2,3 Line subway which can get you to Times Square in 20mins and to State of Liberty station in 30.

Short visit to New York
Thought it was overpriced for what it offered but was ok for our 3 nights there.

Not bad at all
I booked a double room to myself which was cosy and very comfortable. Bathroom was small but fine. Always had a someone else's hair on my towels which was off-putting. Very good TV, nice reception staff and cosy settings downstairs :)

Cheap, cheerful, clean and staff couldn't have been nicer, had superior room, shower always had hot water and clean towels, for the time we/you will really spend in your room in New York this hotel/hostel is perfect. 2 subway stops from Times Sq, 15 mins from ground zero via subway, ideal location.

Not as expected!!
I booked a "deluxe room" if you book this room type don't be fooled by the pictures of luxurious rooms. My room was small and a ramped with a queen bed squeezed in. The room echoed as no soft furnishings. The bathroom was basic and just had the essentials in. I said to the hotel staff I don't feel this room should be sold as 'deluxe' and the response was "did you have a queen bed and ensuite? Then you're room is deluxe, we're a hostel and hotel you know" I found this attitude amongst several of the reception staff. Many of them are young and in experienced in the service industry and you get a feeling they really are not happy at work. The reception has a wierd smell of timber bouncy balls about it. I was not made aware of the lounge and kitchenette until the day of departure when I was awaiting my airport transfer and even then I found this myself. Rooms are noisy and any noise made in the hallways can be heard clearly in the rooms. If you book this hotel expect the worst... At least that way you'll be pleased with the service... Alternatively just don't book it!
