Under or over 25?
As some of the other reviews have mentioned, the hotel is part of a very popular pub frequented by students. Couldn't get to sleep till after 1.30 am because of loud music. Our room was on the first floor opposite an entrance to the bar. People were using this constantly and the door slammed loudly. If you are under 25 you'll probably love it, over 25s should avoid like the plague.

Good central location
Room clean but small, not much space to move around bed, bed comfy and great shower. Little added touches like wham bars and tunnocks teacakes were much appreciated. The hotel is next to/above a very busy Edinburgh pub and during fringe was very busy and noisy. Make sure if you want an early night, that you take ear plugs, or if you can't beat them, join them. Overall a very good central location.

Convenient and smart
Good location, near the centre, bars and restaurants. Hotel newly done out, and was really clean and good quality. Room was small, but everything was fine.

Fun hotel, no bathroom privacy
Great stay in a fun place, with friendly and helpful staff. Our only issue was the bathroom door which was not really a proper door - so you will have to be pretty comfortable with whoever you’re sharing with.

We loved this hotel! I previously stayed a few years ago. Since seems to have been returned. Very clean, modern and just lovely. Fantastic facilities in the room, speakers and sky to name a couple. Only minor thing was when we arrived they were doing works in the room next door which was noisy and the receptionist didn't warn us before we went one

Great hotel!
Hotel was fantastic, great value for money, lots of nice little touches like marshmallows, speakers, amazing shower. Very friendly staff and good location. Little bit noisy at night because of the bar adjoining but no real problem. In fact if I was with my friends rather than my nephew, I’d probably have been in the bar!

Lovely stay, cool hotel, but loud bar nextdoor
Loved this hotel, it was really cool and modern. Only downside was the bar next door was quite loud, especially the bottle bins outside.

Love the towels!
Love the massive fluffy bath towels. The shower bliss and hot. Room just right with everything thought of, wardrobe, TV, hairdryer, tea making stuff. They even included some tea cakes in my cup! Thumbs up. Location good easy to get around (despite the steep hills) and within the Royal Mile. Breakfast was plentiful and fills u up for the day. Perfect. Thank you
