Embassy Chicago short stay
We loved the location, amenities and style of this hotel. Most staff were friendly, however the check-in could have been smoother. We had called ahead for late checkout on our last day but the lady didn’t confirm that on checkin and told me I couldn’t have it. We finally clarified it was already on our booking, but when we got back on the last day we couldn’t get into our room as it had disabled our keys as if we didn’t have late check out. To be left locked out on the 13th floor with a hungry baby was very inconvenient and there was no apology when we arrived back down to the desk to have it rectified. Breakfast was tasty but freezing cold. Apart from these two issues we loved our stay at the embassy Chicago and would stay again for sure.

Excellent hotel but check your dates !
Arriving from the UK on a six night break with my wife, I was unaware it was Presidents Day national holiday weekend. As such, the hotel was full for three of those nights and we had to skip the buffet breakfast and complimentary drinks evenings due to it being so crowded. The staff were fantastic, especially housekeeping. I would return, but choose my dates carefully

Four days in Chicago
Good location although you have a 10 min walk to nearest subway station. Easily walkable and you can detour around the underpass which can feel a bit intimidating at night-I travelled on my own with my son so was conscious of this kind of thing but otherwise felt very safe whilst here.Excellent inclusive breakfast which is busy on a weekend so you may want to eat earlier. Stayed in two room suite, very spacious and well equipped with small kitchen area and good bathroom. Complimentary drinks and snacks in the evening which you are given vouchers for. Used pool and sauna which could have been a bit cleaner, sauna used as a dumping ground for towels and also never really got hot enough to use. Would stay here again though - nice hotel.

Disappointed....this place needs some changes
I have frequently stayed at Embassy Suites and have stayed at this one before as well (10 years ago). I was really disappointed at the cleanliness and quality of this hotel now. I was disappointed at the breakfast service and happy hour. It was completely full of people and there weren’t enough tables to accommodate guests. The floors were incredibly sticky and very dirty in that area. When asked to have a table cleaned, it was met with an eye roll and only half the table being cleaned as I was standing there holding 2 babies with 2 other kids in tow. Breakfast was about the same. It was extremely crowded and we went early in the morning to try and avoid the crowd. We went at the hotel’s recommended time for low traffic. It was a 30 minute wait for the fresh cooked line. For such a large hotel, I found it odd that their seating area wouldn’t be larger to accommodate more guests (or having a larger breakfast options area), especially when people stay there for the free happy hour and free breakfast. Breakfast was sub par. Again with the sticky floors and dirty tables met with a little attitude when asked for help cleaning them off as my husband and I were dealing with babies. The room had seen better days and had 2 slumpy bad mattresses and horrible pillows. Carpet felt gross and bathroom needed lots of love. With 4 kids the last thing you are going to do after unpacking is ask for a different room. Room service left a lot to be desired...ick.
