Old resort, poor service, better options available
Not a good place to stay for business travelers. Unfriendly check in, then had to walk outside, walk several flights of stairs, multiple elevators just to get to my room with my bag. Room was dated, not very clean, locks on patio door broken, toilet wobbles, room condition pretty poor given the price. To top it off, everything on the property was closed, indoor pool, restaurant, etc. The prior night I stayed at Garden of the Gods Club and Resort which was cheaper and frankly a better property with WAY better service, I should have stayed there an extra night. On check in the person at the counter was rather rude, no smile, just the facts, several employees didn't think twice about interupting us to ask her questions, I felt kind of dispensible and invisible. Won't stay here again and do not recommend.

Nice resort but the neighbors stomping upstairs all night and the cleaning lady banged on the door every morning at 8am.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, good price.
we went to the Springs to take kids to Santa's Workshop/North Pole. They love it, and it's not too far from this resort. We also stayed for Thanksgiving dinner at the CMR restaurant, it was good food and a nice buffet display, but pricey, esp. for kids. The hotel is decorated nicely for the holidays, and our kids loved the gingerbread houses and Polar Express train that circled the "village." I would recommend if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, to ask for a 3rd floor room. I had to call the front desk on the 2nd night and ask to be moved as our "neighbors" were walking around loudly until 1am. The staff was very accommodating with my request and we had nobody above us the 2nd night. Everyone there has always been very friendly, and we do enjoy staying at this resort as a local getaway, esp. with online deals. Manitou is a great little town I would also recommend visiting if you are in the Springs. Fun shops and restaurants, very quaint. The Cheyenne zoo is also a great activity if you are looking for something to do - but as always, bundle up in the winter as it can get very cold once the sun goes down behind the mt. (around 3!)
