Hit and miss
My first stay for 4 days was great. I had a clean comfortable, and quiet room. Then I had spoken to staff about extending my stay a day. This was approved by staff, but when the day came they didn't have my booking or a booking I had made through staff for the following Sunday. In the end I was able to get a room for both day but after much tension and confusion. My last night there was in a different room, which was not acceptable. The sink didn't drain and the toilet took many tries to flush. The noise form the street and the rooms next door was not helpful for the quiet sleep I was hoping for. Most of the staff was pleasant and accommodating. There were 2 though they acted put out to help me.

Fair 4.0
Hotel is going through a renovation and first thing that hits you is the very strong smell of paint or glue. They have started renovating from the top floor down but we were on the third floor and renovating was going on the floor above with the noise going on from early morning. The only compensation offered was a 10% discount on a very poor breakfast of scrambled egg that was lukewarm and of a rubbery texture and the potatoe bread was hard and tasteless. To be honest this was the worst breakfast we have ever experienced ever in a hotel. The room was alright but the noise outside was terrible with cars and motor cyclist reving their engines through out the night. Yes I know that is not the hotels fault but it is the fault of the Hotel if the double glazed windows are ill fitted and let the noise in. That is just not acceptable. Personally I think that 10% off food is not good enough to act as compensation for putting up with the noise and the smell while renovations are going on. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel

Good, cheaper alternative to Premier Inn
Ibis hotels have an impressive policy whereby if you have a problem that isn't resolved in 15 minutes you can have your stay free! Room was perfectly adequate for my needs and just a couple of minutes walk from Sauchiehall Street. I would have given 5 for cleanliness but carpet had a couple of small stains on. Bathroom was very clean. Shower water pressure and temperature were excellent. TV was well positioned and had a large screen with very clear picture. Very good room temperature control. Might have used breakfast / café facilities if I had understood how it all worked. I saved a substantial amount of money by not staying at Premier Inn this time - money that paid for some nice meals out! The staff were all polite and efficient. Public can't access lifts without a key card so similar safe environment to Premier Inn.

Unfortunately night
Unfortunately our stay was not good our room had a stale smell of smoke as a none smoker it’s first thing I noticed when entered room I know it’s non smoking in hotel so I couldn’t understand why it smelt of stale smoke it wasn’t till later I realised as our room was at front of hotel the smell of smoke was coming through window vent of people standing outside hotel smoking also bedroom carpet was quite dirty overall not satisfactory as for comfort the bed was so hard and as for pillows felt like sleeping on a brick it was the most uncomfortable night I had I certainly did not sleep so it’s safe to say we would not be booking Ibis again nor would we recommend it to friends I didn’t have any dealing with staff as my husband went to check in when we arrived only staff I spoke with was a cleaner when we were trying to find room but her English was not perfect so she couldn’t help.As for location it was perfect for us as our son is a student and is renting on Sauchiehall Street.

Poor 2.0
Absolute lack of customer service. Waited 1hr for a burger, without being told the order was confirmed. Came home and ordered room service, heard the ‘manager’ telling staff to check the phone call order’ I called to make sure the order was accepted and they decided to belittle me, patronising me when asking about order, and then told me there is no manager on, which is illegal, then hung up the call from myself regarding my order. I hate to complain but this is ridiculous, and the sheer lack of common curtesy is appalling, i paid here to be welcomed and enjoy my nigjht. Hotel clean and nice, staff RUDE and ignorant.
