The Lowry Hotel
Beautiful hotel
Very enjoyable. Only need more lighting around the hotel area. Walking back at night feeling not safe.

The Lowry Hotel
Another great stay
Another great stay at the Lowry. We love the lowery hotel and have stayed there in numerous occasions. Great stafff and large comfortable rooms. It’s a shame that there is a new building approx 20 metres from the front door. Makes the whole entrance seem less grand.

Great hotel!
Friendly welcome from Concierge and Reception. All staff very helpful. Was given a room upgrade - quite a surprise when I got to the room. Rooms are good size with good quality amenities, Elemis toiletries, very good hairdryer, quality bedding, good size TV and nice workspace. Housekeeping staff were very good and helpful. Check-in and check-out process was quick and accurate. There is a lot of building work going on around the area but the rooms are well soundproofed. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to my next stay.It may be a bit expensive but you are paying for excellent quality and it is worth it!

The Lowry Hotel
Going steadily downhill
I’ve been staying at the Lowry regularly (monthly) for the past 3 years and have felt the Lowry is steadily losing its superior quality. I arrived and there was a dirty pair of men’s underwear left on the floor in the room from the previous occupant, which makes me think the room wasn’t cleaned properly at all. The bath had a huge chunk missing out of it which hadn’t been repaired, and the noise the cleaners make in the morning banging doors while cleaning becomes unbearable. I also have severe skin allergies and ask for hypoallergenic bedding which they provide, but then place a throw and cushions that haven’t been cleaned on the bed. Despite my numerous requests when booking and then checking in, without fail there will be cushions on the bed, and again the next day when housekeeping have been in. Cue days of skin rashes from the cushions on my skin that is grossly uncomfortable for me. A five star hotel should be top quality and while it once was; The Lowry definitely isn’t that now. The staff are polite and lovely, but I’m shocked at the lack of follow up to my complaints from any sort of management. A serious overhaul needs to take place.

The Lowry Hotel
Overrated. Avoid unless you can get a bargain.
I’m not sure how the Lowry qualifies for 5 stars. Yes it has an impressive lobby and the service from the staff was good (but still a bit stiff and awkward). And the rooms I’ve had there (stayed twice now) are big. But, they haven’t made use of the space with furniture. The rooms are bare and tired (scuffed woodwork, stained fabrics on the seating, tears in the leather, threadbare carpets - my room had a comedy iron burn in the middle of the carpet). The rooms are out of date too (no usb sockets, no plug sockets of any kind anywhere useful except at the far end of the weird oversized out of place office like desk). Tea/coffee facilities in the room were pathetic. Most hotels of this quality have Nespresso machines; not here. All they can manage is few crumpled old sachets of instant (and no biscuits!) Their food isn’t great either. Room service was prompt but the quality is average. Choice very limited. At least it wasn’t overly expensive. Quite cheap for a 5 star hotel (which makes me think they are aware they aren’t really 5 star quality). Apparently famous people stay here. I can’t imagine why given they can easily afford to stay in any of the much better hotels in Manchester. I only stayed here because on the days I needed it was cheap and very convenient for where I needed to be. I won’t be hurrying back.
