Great hotel for Schipol with friendly staff
I have to say that I wasn’t expecting a great deal from this hotel having read some of the reviews and all I really wanted was a place to sleep before an early flight from Schipol. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised with the standard of the room, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and the very reasonably priced food and drink on offer from the restaurant and bar. I left too early to have breakfast so I cannot comment on this, but the food from the restaurant at dinner was excellent! The only downside (and this is not the hotels fault) was that due to it being in close proximity to Schipol people are coming and going all night, it was a particularly warm night and I had to have the windows open, so I was more aware of the noise than perhaps I would have with the windows shut. I would definitely return to the New West Inn next time I am in Amsterdam.

Would recommend
It was a really good place to stay, friendly staff, a nearby tram that took you into town and ran frequently, the only fault with the stay is that the WiFi didn’t work properly with us being on the top floor and it also costed 5 euros a night if you wanted a kettle in your room but apart from that i would recommend!

Good price for those on a budget.
'Enjoyed the stay, it's a little further out from the centre of Amsterdam but the price reflects this, the reception staff are very helpful and they sell affordable public transport passes. Free parking outside but there were some shady characters loitering close to the cars and bushes looking for cigarette ends and a sign directly outside warning car owners to remove everything from their vehicles due to possible 'smash & grabs' going on, I also saw a couple of cars with patched up broken windows so take care if you have a vehicle! The room itself was spacious and clean and the double bed was huge and comfortable although my partner and I had some bites come up on our necks the next day!? I would stay here again without a car next time and take some bug spray along.

Great spacious room.
We had the deluxe room, bed was huge with a super comfy pillow. Quite a big room with desk and tv. The tv wasn't plugged in and we could only plug either the desk lamp in or the tv which was a bit weird, but as we only stayed 1 night it wasn't an issue again. Shower was great, although couldn't use the toilet after a shower because the whole room was wet, but this wasn't an issue for us. Restaurant made us wait quite a while for our food (were not many people there, but they did get their food in good time I believe), but gave us a drink on the house as apology. Overall we would stay again, comfy and good value for money.
