Decent place, decent food, hard beds
Rooms were clean, food was good at the restaurant and the mocktails were good. Staff was friendly. Only had a slight issue with the taxes that hotels.com said were included, but the hotel said they weren't. They did end up removing the extra tax charges, but this should be addressed.

Wasn’t sure about which location to stay (beach or town) but aloft was a great compromise. Was able to walk to town, but could still bike to tulum ruins and they had a shuttle to the beach clubs. So many more affordable eating options in town then on the beach and taxis from beach to town are at least 30USD each way. So unless you plan on doing nothing but beach would not stay at a beach hotel. Rooms super clean and fine (although could’ve used more lighting when I had to work on a computer at night), pools nice (although view from roof is not great), great gym, food at restaurants fine Saw people complaining about the 20 usd per day resort fee, but I found it useful: I used it for food each day, and it includes two free drinks beyond that, and I used the bikes and shuttle. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely rooms, comfortable beds. The food in the restaurant was pretty horrible but aside from that this is a decent hotel and I would stay here again. Most of the staff were wonderful, only issues were with the restaurant staff (ie saying no green juice was available when clearly two jugs were sitting right there, and getting conflicting information from different people on different days about the ability to charge to our room).
