Perfect location, within walking distance to countless good restaurants and pubs. Easy to get to the tube. The hotel staff is friendly, welcoming, and extremely accommodating. To truly love this hotel you must embrace its character. Hazlitt’s is a unique and wonderful hotel- I will stay nowhere else when in London.

Cosy and friendly, but a little noisy.
The hotel was quaint and interesting and very central to everything. Any old house comes with its problems such as how difficult it is to turn off the taps in both the sink and shower so they don't drip. However, once you get the hang of it, it's nice. The staff are lovely and helpful and the breakfast, which one orders to the room, is very good. Absolutely the only problem is the noisy bar just across the street. If you have a room that faces the street the noise is almost unbearable on a Saturday and lasts until at least 4 am. In the rooms facing inside there is no problem at all. Also, probably to make up for the noise, my room had the most steampunk bathtub of all times. Too bad it dripped for hours which only added to the noise.

Hazlitt's Stay
Great location, lovely hotel and staff. Staff was helpful and friendly. They were there 24 hours a day. The hotel is located right near many restaurants and pubs. So there is always lots going on in the evenings. If you chose to stay inside though.... It's far enough away that you have peace and quiet. Hotel itself are houses built in 1718 so there are creaky and slanted stairs which i think are not a big deal. There is no lift, but there was someone there to carry my luggage up to the top floor to my single (Mrs. Newdigate) room. Breakfast is extra and must be ordered night before. I can't say how good it was because I always went out early and ate elsewhere. There is no tube or bus stop right outsude your door but there are many just a short walk away (4-5 minutes). I'd stay again if I can afford it. It was pretty pricey.

Hidden gem with bags of character
Amazing location, character and service. Definitely not run of the mill and a different experience. Maybe not the most comfortable for a prolonged stay (no lift, rooms not too big, not all floors, staircases etc. straight), but extremely romantic and comforting.

Fair 4.0
Room was dark, dank and I couldn't see enough to apply make up. Room floor was angled, so our drinks literally slid off the table. Indoor house cat was caterwauling and front desk staff noise was clearly audible from our room. Lastly, they tried to charge us extra for difference in rate and nightly rate on my credit card deposit. It was corrected, but not appreciated. We used to live in England, come to London frequently and this was the first place to let us down. Usually love historic hotels! Not this time.
