The Royal Sands & Spa All Inclusive
Good
Good if your a family!
This hotel was personally not for me, too many children & day time activities where it was blasted out via a microphone so could be heard from bedrooms & all around the pool. I personally wanted a relaxing holiday & chose this place as it had Spa in the name (which was very expensive!). Nothing against kids but parents were often know where to be seen & allowed the children to play in the ‘adult only pool’ & play ball games near where we were sunbathing even though there was a huge children’s pool & play area. Food options were limited but good if you went to the venues... order room service or pool service & you’re waiting a good hour & it always arrives cold & ‘second best’. Pool service was very limited, sometimes we didn’t see staff for hours. We complained once & the response we got was there were only three staff to cover a large pool area & the beach, they often got caught & held up by those closets to the bar. The rooms were comfortable & clean with all the usual amenities, housekeeping were very good & cleaned whenever you were out the room no matter what time of day. The pool reserving with towels was out of control, I’m a light sleeper & often woken up before 7am when most of sunbeds on the ‘sunny side’ were already taken by towels who then didn’t turn up until much later. The hotel says it has a policy for towels & children in the adult pool but neither of these were put into practise during our stay. Overall a nice hotel but family orientated!

Fabulous
Great hotel walking along the beach our hotel was defiantly the best ! The only thing I would say is it needs more entertainment in the evenings ! You have to go into town for that ! And it needs an English breakfast ! But even saying that I will be going back ! Loved it

Good
Not as good as other hotels in Cancun
The hotel is ok. It looks a little outdated, and they charge as much as other hotels that are in a much better shape. The most annoying thing about this hotel is the fact that you MUST GIVE them your room key everytime you go to the restaurant, everytime you order a drink, when you get your towels. I have been travelling to Cancun, Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya in general for the last 10 years and no other hotel retains your card while you dine or eat. They can see you have an all inclusive bracelet and you give them your room number and your name. That should be enough to get the service you are requesting. Just for this reason I will never go back to this hotel nor recommend it to anyone. There are only two restaurants in site and the snack bar. (And they never want to serve you at the snack bars , they ´recommend you to go to the buffet instead)

We were very disappointed that our balcony was so small and had no furniture. The whole point of getting a room with a balcony is to use it. We put the chairs from the room on the balcony; however, they were too big so we couldn't sit outside...what a shame! I won't recommend your hotel because of this!
