The check in was laborious and involved a hard sell of packages available thru the hotel. It took abt 20 minutes to check in !!!!!!
It’s a beautiful resort, a little updating required but overall a lovely place. Fantastic for families especially. Lots to do both on site and close by.
Very high quality with excellent facilities in property and very good public facilities such as the pools. Everything you could need is provided making it a great place to stay with family or friends
We arrived at 11.30PM to be greeted by a 5 minute wait while the staff did... well who knows because there was no one there except ourselves. We proceeded to being charge a $17 "resort" fee which we were not aware of at time of booking. All for the privilege of using the wifi for 30 minutes before bed. It might be reasonable to pay the fee for a longer term stay, but for foreign visitors there for the night, it is extortionate. Especially given the overall quality of the offer. The property is simply an overpriced house rental with none of the luxuries of a hotel, but at the price of one. We left early the next morning, still wondering why we had paid a resort fee, and hungry because contrary to indication at booking (confirmed by the staff at check in) there was no breakfast included in the already premium price for the room. I wouldn't recommend.
Wonderful time at this resort, no problems with anything. Best 13 yr old birthday ever.
Could have been little cleaner, had a very bad bee infestation couldn’t enjoy the patio
Overall, we love staying at the Powhatan, but his experience was a first. we stayed in a down stairs unit this trip and we have a family over us that were extremely noisy, had children who appeared to run through the unit for hours each day and even louder at night. First night we were patient, understanding that this may be the family's first outing since covid and the weather was cooler so outside was not an option, but the situation just got worst. The second evening we had to call front desk for the noise, they were also smoking in the lobby of the unit and the smoke was coming into our unit due to the half inch or more gap in our door. They had guest that parked in our space and we had to ask them to move so we could park our car when we arrived back to our unit. We think the noise intensified because we asked the guest to move. The front desk said they would send security and I believed they called, around 11:00 pm the noise decreased. The child running on continued sporadically until midnight.
Our unit was very clean and updated, as well as spacious. We enjoyed having amenities like the kitchen and washer/dryer. They stocked you with the necessities like dish soap and a pack of laundry detergent. Our deck and view were very nice because the report grounds are beautiful! Our kids loved the playground and mini golf, we would like to visit again when the pool is open.
I went as a group of 4 to this resort and I was blown away. The customer service was amazing and we were always greeted with a smile. The room was spacious and honestly above and beyond what we thought we would get. Everything about the look and comfort of the space was a 10/10. The daily activity tax and the $200 down payment was a bit irritating in the moment but, a business runs on money. The views were beautiful and we cannot wait until we get to visit again when it’s warm!!!
Check in took over one hour.
