Dated but comfortable enough
The hotel is showing its age and badly needs refurbishment but aside from that its relatively clean and comfortable with plenty of free parking. It's a good 20 minute walk from the centre of Banff. Breakfast was a bit disappointing but cheap enough, best eat in town.

Good hotel, liked the idea of free DVD rentals. Not really sure though why I had to pay a deposit of $150 & have the room inspected on check out? At 59 I'm hardly going to trash the room?? Strange....

An Enjoyable Stay
I got a good impression right away when checking in. The woman behind the desk was friendly and helpful. We were checked in quickly and provided with complementary locks for storing our ski equipment. The storage lockers were secure and provided plenty of room for our equipment. We had a double queen room and it was spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable and there were good coffee making facilities including a filter coffee maker. There was also a fridge which was nice and cool. We did find it too warm during the night. The next day we noticed the thermostat was above 25c. We turned it down to minimum for the subsequent nights and it was more comfortable. We were on the same floor as the fitness centre. The facilities here were excellent! There was clean and modern gym equipment including weights. The pool was as seen on the website. Much larger than you usually find in other similar accommodation meaning if you are a swimmer (my son is an avid swimmer) you will have use of a pool suitable for practice. The hot tub is where I spent most of my time in the health centre and I loved it. Great for aching muscles after a day of skiing. I really enjoyed staying in this hotel as did my buddy and my 12 year old son. If I had friends staying in Banff I would have no hesitation recommending the Rundlestone Lodge to them. I hope to stay here again, thank you for an enjoyable stay. You have great people working there.

Would recommend
The hotel was generally very good. It's a 15 minute walk from downtown Banff, but I knew that when booking and it wasn't a problem for me. I didn't notice that the pool is indoors, so their standard "pool view" rooms don't actually have an external window. They are mostly ground level at the side of the pool. The pool does have a skylight, so some daylight is visible, but it obviously didn't feel the same. Still, if you're visiting Banff, you probably aren't planning to spend much time in the room. We certainly didn't.
