Not a resort but there’s a resort fee!
The resort fee is an unfair charge. This hotel is not a resort. It didn’t even have a pool. There’s a gym which we didn’t need. Even regular gyms do not charge such an exorbitant fee per day.

Great for families!
We had a wonderful stay here! My husband and I frequent NYC solo often, but this time we brought our children - 7 year old, 3 year old and 4 month old, as well as our au pair. We stayed in the 1-bedroom apartment style room and there was PLENTY of space for all of us to spread out, play, eat, sleep. I highly suggest the Sonesta for families. There are board games in the lobby that you can bring to your room and play. That was fun! I also accidentally left my expensive hair dryer and realized it a week later. They had it set aside and shipped it to me using a pre-paid label that I emailed them. I’ve left things in hotels before and they “never found them”, so I was impressed with the integrity! My 3-year-old loved the lady at tue front desk. Everyone was so fun, accommodating and nice! Lots of closet space and we had a full kitchen.

It is a good extended stay hotel. Not luxurious, very basic, but with everything you need. One drawback. The daily “amenity fee” is theft. No other way to put it. The gym is a joke, etc. It’s ok, you don’t stay there for that, just incorporate it into the rate.
