Budget Hotel, Great Location But Loud
On a budget, this is a great place to stay. 10 minute walk to the strip (Flamingo, Ballys, Bellagio area). The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. We also got a Growler of Beer on the house when we checked in. The restaurants (Village Pub and BBQ) offered good choices and was a good meal. Big portions and tasty but nothing fancy. We arrived late at night and it filled the need. The casino is depressing. No atmosphere, way too smokey, only a few tables, drink service is non-exsistant. We only had a look on the night we arrived late. It just needed some atmosphere! The only negative thing about Ellis Island was that it was noisy. The pipes which I assume run the water are loud and there is no sleeping in past 8am. Doors slamming in the morning as people leave and housekeeping chatting loudly outside. We did put the Do Not Disturb sign out but we were definitely disturbed. For a budget short stay, it is a good deal and location cannot be beat. Not sure if I will stay here again, it would just depend on what I am doing in Vegas and how long my trip would be.

    Poor 2.0
It is worst worst worst place to stay. You should select this place when there is no other place left to stay on this earth. The staff of this merely a small motel kind of hotel isnt supportive at all. I requested them to keep my 2 small cabin bags at their bell desk as werent allowed that on tour for just one day before as second day i already had reservation at this place and they shamelessly refused to keep my cabin bags and gave stupid reason of liability this people cant take liability of 2 cabin bags will they care about you or your stay!! Things dont end here guys i checked in at around 9-10 and i had flight early next morning at around 6 and guess what at around 11:40 their fire alarm goes off and it was so loud that you can barely hear someone's voice next to you and it was not one time it rang after every t minutes for 2 hours and when i called there reception they said they are facing some problems with alarm so guys TAKE TIME AND READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE BOOKONG THIS PLACE I FELT MISERABLE FOR BOOKING THIS PLACE I DONT WANT OTHERS TO FACE THIS. So i took time to write this review. I read the bad reviews before foe this place but i thought it is just a matter of one night but this worst place cannot be even booked for an hour Mark my words guys you will regret if you book here. I will post this review everywhere as i dont want someone to fall in same pot hole in which i had already fallen.

The hotel looks clean and well kept, even though the structure looks old. My stay was pleasant as well. Just two things I did not like and have a huge concern about: 1. SAFETY - Front entrance door leading to reception desk were locked at bedtime. Yet, the side door (where my hall was) was NOT locked, and any bum could simply enter through that side door. We were coming back to the hotel and didn’t have our key but were able to access the hotel simply by walking through the side door at 1:00 AM, when everyone’s already sleeping. This compromises guest security. 2. PRIVACY - My room was situated on the side of the hotel, right across the cafe and casino, where people would frequently pass by. The blinds on my window had tiny holes where passers by could easily peep, especially at night when there’s light in my room and I’m naked from a shower, and it’s dark outside for someone to easily sneak to peep because it’s ground level with the outside sidewalk. A curtain in my room would have been better because it’s more coverage, especially at night. This violates privacy, not very safe, especially for a woman staying alone in a room and outside are men constantly walking outside my window at night. Why did they even assign a room with blinds with tiny slits to a woman? Not very private and safe at night.

We loved our stay. AMAZING LOCATION 1 block off the strip! Hotel lobby is small, which makes for check-in a bit overwhelming if there's a lot of folks checking in. But didn't bother us whatsoever. The hotel rooms and casino were recently renovated, which made for a nice stay. Room was clean, AC worked perfectly, we had NO issues at all with our room. Hallway walls and carpeting definitely need an overhaul, but again, didn't bother us. We aren't sleeping in the hallways so no big deal! Pool area and hot tub - both SMALL but was perfect for us. We just needed an hour to relax. There were about 6 other people in the area, so wasn't that crowded, but again small pool area so if you're looking for a fancy pool lounge area or somewhere to swim laps or a pool bar - ha ha this place is not for you. Casino is awesome - small, cozy but does pay out :) Dealers are cool, bartenders nice. Pizza spot is yummy and of course the Village Pub for steak - a must do even if you aren't staying at the hotel. Good portions, great prices. Also the included continental breakfast is great. It's coffee and 3 baked goods per person. Was great for us. Or you could upgrade for $5 more and instead of the continental, purchase one of two options (waffles or eggs with bacon/sausage and potatoes. We were satisfied. Will definitely be back. Rate is great. One of the only properties that has a "resort fee" for less than $25 a night!

    Worst Stay Ever
First off horrible location, room was an upgrade, but it was tiny. Second horrible service and hotel/casino. Third, the security was mean and uptight. We were harrassed by them. Pounding on the door at 130am because "they heard" a smoke alarm going off, however there was never a smoke alarm in our room going off. They were going to bardge into the room and check it out. I was indisposed and they were ready to bardge in. They left and came back wanting to search the room again. We told them it could be the steam from the shower. Fourth, we had coins roll under the bed and when we checked under the bed there was a woman's bra and trash. When we checked out we told the hotel reception desk what happened and she said it could be a malfunction, but wasnt sure. Never did anything after that. We havent even heard from the manager or anyone from the hotel since our stay.
