Lovely hotel,good location,loved Cologne

Great place to stay for the markets, close enough to walk. 10 minutes max to the station and the cathedral. Where one of the main Christmas market is. But lovely and quite. Only down side was the speed of the WiFi, very slow!

We found the hotel very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. There are three reasons we would sadly not stay there again. 1. We could not make tea in the bedroom....very important to me. When I enquired I was told they would bring it to the room but I would have to pay. Not acceptable. 2. The breakfast room was much too dark. I am partially sighted and found it very hard to get around comfortably. 3. I objected to the picture of a woman pushing her breasts together in our room (214) and to the picture of a half-naked woman hanging next to the lift. I found these offensive and unnecessary.

Good hotel within easy 6-7 minute walk from the Dom and main station. Generally good service, although very slow check-in due to technical problem. Good-sized room but big problem not being able to control room temperature left us far too hot at night. We even had to open a window, which was not ideal as we then had traffic noise early morning. Coffee machine a ‘plus’ but only weak coffee available. Spacious bathroom with good toiletries but no shower cap! Flannels removed and not replaced. Bed a little too hard for our liking. NO BBC World or CNN so no English speaking channels apart from France24 ironically. Breakfast quite good but coffee very weak. Unusual in Germany. Had lovely meal at Brucken, about a 5 minute walk away.
