Unmatched Location on Taos Plaza
There is no getting around the small rooms and bathrooms though they are attractive. There isn't enough room to put "stuff" so dressing and doing anything in the bathroom is inconvenient. The view across the plaza was very nice though. The king size bed was fine but the bed pillows were very thin. The worst thing about the too was the thin walls. We had neighbors the first night on both sides of our room who could easily be heard robustly talking at night, early in the morning, and from one side, at 3 a.m. It was impossible to sleep. The hotel must be aware of this problem, because there were earplugs for guests' use in the bathroom. The second night was blissfully quiet so I guess it is the luck of the draw whether you will have a peaceful time There is no room for coffee making equipment in he room but the hotel puts out a decanter of coffee in a common area in the morning. It was empty before 8 a.m. and wasn't refilled. The coffee shop off the lobby provided free coffee, tea and hot chocolate but that's not convenient for as soon as you wake up. The hotel has no cafe or restaurant. Parking in the hotel lot is $6.00 per day So in sum, the location is great, but the hotel lacks many amenities that most travelers take for granted these days--especially at this price level.

Not a good choice . . .
The hotel management put us in a front-facing room even though the Christmas music blared frim 4:30 - 10:00 each night. The hotel dining room was closed and the coffee shop was hit ir miss. Charging $9.00/night for parking is ridiculous in a town of 5,000 people. I can see why they unsist that you pay in advance! The front desk crew is exceedingly loud in the morning with no regard for guests who might want to sleep late.

Very friendly front desk greeting. Rooms are basic and no restaurant onsite, which is nice for breakfast. The adjacent coffee shop provides free water and coffee drinks to guests, which is a very nice touch. But they serve Starbucks and we just don't care for their coffee. Bed was very comfy
