Exceptional 10.0
couple of days away
We had a two night stay at this hotel, the hotel is a bit dated but that is only to be expected with such an old building. We found the staff to be very polite the food was lovely and overall could not fault this hotel. Would definately stay here again if we were in Inverness and another plus for us was that you are right next to the train station.

Rest potential, but needing TLC
I have a feeling in its prime it was amazing. Now present day it feels of it's catering to an aging repeat customer market. It's lovely as you walk in, but rooms need updating. Yellow pattern wallpaper peeling and old pattern curtains. For facilities It's the silly things like upgrading to a full breakfast you receive a paper token and if you don't have it at the bar you don't get the full Scottish breakfast. I'd expect a computer system to tell the staff who has and hasn't paid for one. I feel the hotel has potential, but the owner may be tight with the purse strings. Again, 12.50 for a full breakfast that had deep fried bread , tiny portions per item. Didn't feel the luxury I'd expect. The staff were lovely however I feel a sense of demotivation.

Hotel rooms need updating plus some soundproofing. Buffet breakfast poor (No yogurts, cold meats, cheeses) Hot breakfast should be hot. Overpriced for what was on offer. Staff very helpfull.

Central but slightly sad.
Right in the middle of Inverness, ad next door to the station. However, was obviously the old railway hotel and seems that little upgrading of the interior has taken place since say the 1970s. Small tall ceilinged rooms, old furniture from second hand shops, and generally a run down feel. That said, staff were nice and breakfast perfectly fine.

OUTDATED HOTEL
Very OUTDATED hotel ...might have been good in the 1900s , BUT NOW , and with the exception of the lady who checked us in , the rest of reception were miserable , the room was not welcoming at all, stifling hot , had to keep windows open , and thus it was noisy lat into the night
GRAHAM, gb1 night trip
Fair 4.0
Food very disappointing, the afternoon tea had strawberries that were turning mouldy and stale bread for sandwiches and the breakfast was disappointing too, toast and cereal as the rest looked not very nice, we went to morrisons for ours after day one, hotel nice though but add 7 pounds a day and a walk with your bags for parking!

poor stay
Photos online did not convey the hotel. Front desk service was not very helpful. The floorboards above our ceiling were very squeaky and loud. Worst night sleep in a long time do to train station noise.
