Airport hotel in Chicago
I needed an overnight hotel at Chicago O’Hare Airport and the Hilton is really handy. It’s a bit pricey for an airport hotel and the food isn’t great. On the plus side the staff are really friendly.

Hilton Hotel, O'Hare Airport - good place to stay
The Hilton Hotel at O'Hare Airport was the best thing. Unfortunately, we didn't think much to O'Hare Airport apart from a nice elderly gentleman information officer in a red jacket. Everyone else at the airport wasn't nearly as nice nor helpful. As for the signage within the airport, suggest someone actually does a check or goes as 'undercover boss' actually acts like a visitor. We hadn't a clue where to go. Having said that London Heathrow wasn't much better for visitors either. No 'inviting smiles' at the airport as in The Park Hotel, LHR.

Routine and over priced
Typical airport hotel, a bit tired and certainly over priced.

Wonderful views
Finally, after years of asking they now advertise dedicated Runway view rooms; not cheap but they do exactly what they say on the tin. Good check-in ensured precise location. Room comfy with everything necessary incl free wifi, enough sockets, comfy bed (especially the pillows). And quiet overnight. Even first thing in the morning when you sometimes get people moving about at airport hotels. And if you are into aeroplanes there are endless comings and goings. Why not straight 5s? - the food in the bar wasn't great (and they've made this area anodyne and soulless - it used to be clubby and smaller) and the little café is extortionately priced. But that is picky.
